is there a way to filter the way you search? for example, if i was looking for a series that met two genre's criteria like seinen and action or whatever.

There is a way to do what you said, search by genre, by clicking "Search by Genre" at the bottom of the series info page --> click series info at the right, then scroll to bottom where it says "Search by Genre".

As far as other advanced searches, not yet. you can use "AND" or "OR" in your searches to make them a bit more advanced, because by default it just searches for your full search string. Also, not many people know about it, but the "Quick Search" feature at the bottom of each section is meant to be an advanced search for that section only. the "manga search" at the top of the screen is only for releases.

i guess i wasnt clear enough. I mean genre searching with multiple genres at once. So take one piece, for example, it is under (probably) shounen and action, among others, but there isnt a way to search for manga that are also in both shounen and action now, or am i missing something.

Erm.. unless I broke something, which I don't think I did, all you have to do is check the "Shounen" and "Action" boxes in that search by genre page, and then click search....
