Have you ever tried running away from home?

Don't know if this has been done before.
But yes as the question states have you? And it doesn't just mean running away you can take it as meaning to escape from home for like a night escapade(sp?).
I have tried so many times and only succeeded three times, escaping I mean. When I did it was either to go to a party or my boyfriend's house, it was always a thrill. But somehow my parents not finding out took the thrill away...I know weird huh?
I ran away from home when I was younger for some insignificant reason and I got as far as crossing the street then I cried...wailed actually...because I missed my mom.and they found me my "adventure" lasted approximately 3 minutes.
Nope.
There's nowhere to go.
Also, I've never been so retarded
that I would've needed to start a
rebellion for something worthless
like not being able to see friends etc.
I've always gone as I please, but I've
never really had a reason to leave home
anyway.

Hey hey somehow I feel insulted...I've actually tried running away because I couldn't see my friends and we were going to leave together 😀 ..we even decided that if anything goes wrong we'd join the circus and such...
Anyway I asked because statistics show that girls tend to run away from home more times than guys because they are more emotional. And it's either because of insecurity, friends, love or a background history of violence. Wanted to see if that was actually true.

Me neither.
I did get kicked out of the house when I was 7........but my older sister found me huddled near the dumpsters outside our apartment an hour later and brought me back.
I think the closest I got to running away, was prancing out of the car at a stoplight and walking away, while my parents were driving along screaming for me to get back in. I think I walked a whole block before giving up. I was probably 15 at the time.
I'll pin it down to: Want to all the time. (And...I'm too old to do it anymore)

Yea I'm too old too, well not that old but I live in my own apartment with my roommate, if there's any place I'll be running to now it's basically going to be my room lol.

Hm? Does it count as 'running away from home' if I say I'm leaving my family to head off to a foreign country??XD
I'm basically living on my own here...and my family's like..halfway over the world from me..I missed them though..as they say "there's no place like home"..it's true.
@Hatsumimi
Interesting story...
but it's really sad.. ;___; Are you still living with them?

No. Also there was no point in me trying because I was always being watched.
Once I did leave for a day because I was upset but I it was not my intention to never return.

My apartment flooded, and then my roomie lost her job, so yeah, I had to move back in with them, Hermit-chan. It was either them, or brazil w/ my bf who is a schoolteacher there D:
At the time I probably was pretty sad, I think. But now me and my older sister (who married just to get away from the family) just get together and laugh about it. My parents are both slightly kooky, lol.

Oh man if you think your family is kooky then I don't know what to call mine. My older siblings did the same they married off and moved away...when I say away I mean across the world...and just a few months ago they handed me down the torch and told me that if I ever wanted to escape from the kookiness I'd have to tell my parents I need my own space to be successful...oddly enough it worked

I tried when I was around 6 years old, cuz they wanted me to do as I'm told. I threatened to leave the house, with a garbage bag full of toys in tow. Well I got hungry packing my toys, so I ate a snack and took a nap. I think I changed my mind when I woke up and saw it was too dark outside.
What's yours is mine, and what's mine is STILL mine!!

Luna,
It's nice to have your own place. Just make a note never to give your parents the keys to your apartment, lol. Glad you did your deed and told them you need space. I'm not brave enough to do that just yet.
Anyway, I had a lot of useless friends back then, who didn't even have a getaway car. We all rode scooters and spent money on stupid stuff. But I'm kind of glad now that I didn't go through with that stuff. When my younger brothers run away from home now, my parents pretty much send me driving around the city looking for them. I don't think I could do that to my older siblings. D:

Unfortunately I did give my mom a spare key that was one of the conditions of me being able to live alone. Oh how I regret it...we live states apart and she somehow manages to come to my house about once a week to cook dinner and such while I'm in class...and she often leaves little post its you know saying clean your room, take out the trash..blah blah blah...and believe me I wasn't brave at first took me two months to actually tell them 🤣
