Part of the Melt Down circle with Fuyunagi Reku. Has collaborated on doujinshi with SUZUKI Ami.

She is most known as the original creator of "Sensitive Pornograph" and "Sekirei" comics, which are now both anime. She seems to be authoring mostly comics for men than BL and yaoi doujinshi these days.
Gokurakuin's style is known for the notably realistically-Asian features of the face, with heart-shaped faces, dark almond eyes and lankier limbs with a stiffer inking and watercolor technique, and use of rounded chibi gags to to soften the flow of her usually grittier stories with mature themes of BDSM, dark pasts and abuse. She was a notable creator in the shotacon comic market in the 90's making common artwork appearances in X-Kids publications before the shotacon cartoon genre lost popularity due to controversies comparing it to real-world child trafficking and abuse inside and outside of Japan.

Gokurakuin is a huge fan of singer, Akina Nakamori.
