ONO Shinji & OWADA Natsuki were his close friends. Their friendship was depicted in Seishun Shounen Magazine 1978-1983.
He also friends with HATTORI Kazumi, SHIMOSAKA Tamotsu, KUSUNOKI Michiharu, KIUCHI Kazuhiro, KAWA Sanbanchi, MOROGA Taku, MOTOHASHI Masahide & YANAGISAWA Kimio.

Was an assistant to MOCHIZUKI Mikiya on Shounen King’s Wild 7 for two months.

Once mistook a yakuza on the street as Buronson.

Achievements:

-Winner of the 20th Weekly Shonen Magazine Newcomer Manga Award in 1978.
-1 2 no Sanshirou won the 5th Kodansha Manga Award for shounen category in 1981.
-What's Michael? won the 10th Kodansha Manga Award for general category in 1986.
