A very real and honest description of a mangaka's life during the 70s boom period.

Going through the elation and camaraderie that one finds working as a mangaka alongside other artists and writers to the pain and sorrow that comes through the harsh attrition of the career, this is a great read.
It is very candid and honest about itself and there is a biting cynicism to the work, but it does not read like an old man's regretful whining.

Kobayashi is a very engaging writer and the personality that he infuses into his art and his telling of the past is wonderful.

Especially to those who are interested in learning about the people who create manga. You'll laugh and you'll cry reading this manga.
