Helgheim is from Sandefjord, but lived in USA for a few years when he was a kid, during these years he fell in love with comics and manga. This love made him get a keen interest in drawing which led to him starting to make comics and the like himself. He along with Charlotte Sandmæl coined the umbrella term Nordic Manga as a collective term for (possibly) serial story-based graphic novels from the far north. Ragnarok is his debut series.
