New Poll - Translation Quality

This poll was suggested by MewMan. So in general, what's your opinion on the quality of manga translations? This applies to both scanlations and stuff released by publishers. Honestly though, how many of you can actually read the original language and would actually know how good a translation is? We're so critical on things we're not even experts on...

My first memorable exposure was to Spirited Away. It's quite sad that 12.7% never watched any of them...

New Poll - Hayao Miyazaki

This cute poll was suggested by our member sheniccar. No explanation necessary for this one. Ironically, I watched Nausicaa yesterday night...

Yes, just to try them out - votes: 2197 (16.5%)

What's a visual novel? - votes: 4760 (35.7%)
There were 13315 total votes.

Well, it's pretty understanding that a lot of people don't even know what a visual novel is...but hopefully they do know now? And apparently lots of people have at least tried them out before! (And more people like it than not)

New Poll - Visual Novel

This new poll has been suggested by our member MewMan. Just choose the choice that best represents your experience with visual novels. If you didn't know, there are visual novels that are not 18+ in nature. For instance, the ones I tried would be the Love Hina one for the GBA and some of Ever 17. I also remember seeing some non-H stuff back in '06 of AnimeExpo.

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Opinion on manga censoring?
Choices:
Unnecessary and annoying - votes: 6743 (39.3%)
All for it! Think about the kids! - votes: 621 (3.6%)
If it was meant to be for adults, why censor? - votes: 8320 (48.5%)
I don't care - votes: 1463 (8.5%)
There were 17147 total votes.
The poll ended: August 21st 2010

It's pretty obvious that the majority of people don't like censoring, yet it still happens because of laws... Blame all the people lobbying for it.
