Over the last couple of weeks, there's been some disputes between the scanlation group Yo Manga and the aggregate/scanlation group heymanga.xyz.
- YoManga accused HeyManga of using their raws without credit and hosting their releases without permission. And apparently the hosting is automated, as I've seen it happen within minutes of the release going up...
- HeyManga ignores the accusations and threatens with DDoS
- YoManga's site goes down due to DDoS (although no one can pin it on HeyManga)
- When YoManga comes back up, they start hosting HeyManga's releases without permission (and removing HeyManga's credit pages)
So it's basically like fighting fire with fire. Neither side appears to be letting up. Even earlier today, YoManga put up HeyManga's releases of Si-Eun.
In response, we've removed all of both groups' releases from MangaUpdates.
Life happens, and Japanzai is now leaving the scene.

Looks like very few of us have ready American comics.
This week's poll was suggested by our member residentgrigo. You read any American comics? I guess the most well known are Marvel and DC, but there's plenty of other stuff out there. And Captain America: Civil War just came out! (Great movie, by the way. I highly recommend you watch it).

So if the series has a strong female lead that grows a lot, then we're golden?
This week's poll was suggested by Trimutius. The categories listed are the top 15 most agreed categories, which is why "Rape" is there... For that option in particular, if you like, you can treat it as "most important because I want to avoid it"... Let's just say there's a lot of hentai and doujinshi in the database.

For those monthly series, I often forget what happened in the previous chapter...
This week's poll was suggested by jacob66. The phrasing is a bit odd, but basically how long does it take for you to forget what was happening in a series? I'm not talking about memorizing every single detail though. By forgetting, I mean forgetting what happened in the last couple of chapters or so, to the point that you feel like you should re-read those previous chapters just to understand what's going on in the current chapter.

In a few days is the infamous April Fools' Day (April 1st). At MU, we [color=red]WILL NOT[/color] tolerate any fake/joke releases being reported/announced to us (on any day, not just April Fools). If we, by accident, allow a fake release to get through, please report the mistake to us (either via a [sitelink=submit.html?act=add_change]Change Request[/sitelink] form, through the forum, post a comment in this news post, or you can email me at lambchopsil[at]mangaupdates[dot]com if you are not a registered member here).
As you have been warned against doing it, if we discover a person still attempting to post a joke release here, that person will be dealt with. Severe action will be taken upon that scanlation group.
Thank you for considering our request to remain as accurate as possible for our members.
Some people seem to think this news post is a joke or something similar. I assure you, I am being totally serious. Don't take it lightly.
And we can figure out if someone is trying to frame a group. We're not naive, so don't even try.
