This week's poll is in honor of the news that Batoto will be closing soon.
Previous Poll Results:
Question: Series is complete but only partially scanlated. No one is translating it anymore (i.e. dropped project)
Choices:
I'd still read it - votes: 3113 (60.4%)
Nope, skip it - votes: 2040 (39.6%)
There were 5153 total votes.
The poll ended: January 13th 2018
Hopefully someone else will pick up the series
Batoto announced that they are closing their doors around January 18. This will be a sad day for the scanlation community.
In case you didn't know, they were a manga reader site that actually played nice with the wishes of scanlators. (Man, the old days with the Tazmo sites...)
On a personal level, I really understand Grumpy's reasoning on why he wants to quit. I've been helping run MangaUpdates for the last 11-ish years, and I've wanted to quit several times. In fact, I want to quit now still... but that's another story.
Batoto, you will be missed.
Edit:
This affects MangaUpdates somewhat due to our group policies. In case you didn't know, releases are only listed on MangaUpdates if they were done by a group that's in our database. (The term "group" is a misnomer because it could just be a single person.) A group would only be approved if it had one of the following: website, IRC channel, forum URL, Twitter, or Facebook page. A Batato group link could substitute as a website (but a link to a specific user could not be used, which is why any Batoto release filed under "No Group" has always been rejected).
This adversely affects smaller scanlation groups who don't have their own sites and exclusively hosted on Batoto. However, we're not changing our group requirements. If a new thing arises that replaces Batoto, we'll consider allowing that to be used as a website when listing a group.
FYI, in case you didn't know, the website listed for a group will never appear for you because of this development.
F_J gave another poll that's related to last week's. This time, what if it was the scanlation group that dropped the series? It could either be officially dropped or the releases were so slow that they might as well have dropped it.

Previous Poll Results:
Question: You know a series is incomplete and on hiatus
Choices:
I'd still read it - votes: 3147 (55.9%)
Nope, skip it - votes: 2478 (44.1%)
There were 5625 total votes.

Huh, more people would read it. That actually surprised me
This week's poll is from F_J. I realize that it'll depend on other factors (like how good the series is or personal recommendations from friends), but all things considered, does the series being incomplete and on hiatus impact your decisions?

For the few of you that make things, congrats! You guys are the true artists!
This week's poll is about Christmas gifts, which is nice because Christmas is this week! If you are giving some gifts, tell us more! I got a friend of mine a Funko Pop! figure for Sword Art Online. Someone else is getting a cutting board etched with some Game of Thrones references.

Pretty obvious most of the time
This week's fun little poll was from F_J. If I showed you a random volume of manga, could you determine the demographic and/or genre of the series?

TIL that Hitler was a painter
This week's poll was suggested by residentgrigo and inspired by what happened with WATSUKI Nobuhiro (author of Rurouni Kenshin) and people in Hollywood or politics.

Imagine being burdened as a baby with all this past knowledge...
This week's poll is an unusual one from F_J. He (or she?) mentions that there are many isekai series, of which many have the concept of rebirth. So if you were reborn, would you like to remember your past life? And if so, at what time of your new life would you prefer to remember your past life?

I should've included more options for more than 12 hours...
Looks like we have another poll about time. This time around, our member yuuki16 suggested that we ask about the longest time you've read manga without any breaks. For me, I think it was the time in high school where I spent an entire night trying to finish Death Note. I just couldn't put it down. I think I read it for 7 hours straight.

My average is around 7 hours too!
I came up with this week's non-manga-related poll. We could use more poll suggestions!
