Adorable! Though I must admit, I prefer the film version of Whisper of the Heart. It's a little less like a typical shoujo and better explores the tremulous time period of adolescence. Also, I feel that there is less lost in translation with the film.
However, this, on its own, is a very cute story and a step above the others. I would recommend it!

Short, simple and sweet... I can see how this story would inspire Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli to create the anime version. Shizuku and her many expressions are both adorable and hilarious. Definitely recommended for shoujo fans.
