6) Carmen
"What if Jose and the bullfighter in Bizet's classic opera 'Carmen' were lovers?" This is that idea, brought to life.
A retelling of the famous work detailing one man's twisted love:
"I must kill that woman who leads my heart astray"
A beautiful factory girl tosses a rose at a soldier. Little does he know that the same flower would bring ruin upon him...

Good ideas but lacklustre execution

I wanted to love this, I really did, but it's definitely not my favourite work of the author. The idea behind each and every one story is very innovative and holds lots of potential; unfortunately the delivery fell flat for me, or very rushed at other times. Sensei's intention was obviously more about coming up with something unusual and less about developing that material to its fullest possible growth, which is really a shame.

I'll admit I am an art snob when it comes to manga so I picked this up after lots of consideration. Oh, how wrong I was. The whole manga feels very fairytail-ish (the stories are based on fairytails after all!), however, the author did a very good job at drawing you in the stories. There were even art changes to emphasise that indeed these stories were ~dreamy~ I can't really explain further you have to read this!
My rating is 10/10.

Really interesting, and rather high-brow retellings in sometimes "low-brow" settings.
I loved every twist. This is... this is masterful art in story telling, even if I don't like Est Em's art style. :')

It was a good retelling of the stories I knew, but sort of a hit or miss. The Little Mermaid one was different, and the Cinderella one was hilarious but with a vague ending. All in all, I liked it. The art isn't standard manga art but stylized and I thought it fit the stories.
