Wonderful comedy, full of adventures.

It's a mix of comedy, fantasy and action. Various creatures from another realm gather around our main character - the monk, they fight with him or become his friends (sometimes both). The mood of the story is rater light but there are also universal questions that keep on bugging the monk and through the story, while he's trying to find the answers, he grows a lot. His companion - the spider, who became attached to the monk is silly and cute by nature, on the contrary only his body grows a lot, but he's very good looking and kind so it's fine. I liked also the supporting characters - mainly the monsters, those small one-eyed creatures were adorable. I had a lot of fun reading about their adventures. On top of that, the art is superb (it's really pretty I swear) and sex is slightly odd but still hot. The only disappointing thing was not revealing Sougen's true identity, it really is a shame, or rather the missing piece of jigsaw and fighting scenes were under exploited (it's not a 10, but 9). I would like to see another story in this realm, just like somebody said in comment below, it's worth a continuation, so Haji-sensei you should consider creating another story. And put some more fighting scenes or at least don't draw only half of the scene, to only put a few words about fright's result on the next page.

If you like fantasy, foxes and spirits and you're not lacking on sense of humour I'm sure you'll like this manga.

Only if you're into the monster thing

I really like human/nonhuman romance, so, naturally, I decided to read this. However, almost immediately, it starts with the telltale misogyny-masked-as-legitimate-hatred frequent in BL. This crap is only serves to to justify abuse and is a huge disappointment. Odd thing, though, was the the suggestive scene with a flower when flowers have overwhelmingly been compared to vulvae.

The only redeeming factor was having the monk as the uke and the one with a juvenile personality top. Their romance was bland and so was the second couple. If you're big into this kink, then you'll still mildly enjoy the sex scenes.

I've seen this genre of yaoi mangas (guys with animalistic traits, other than cat ears and tails) but I've never liked it, until now that is. I don't know why I wasn't bothered by this and instead I enjoyed reading it that much. I wish there was more. The main couple is so cute, I just wish we could learn more about the monk's real identity and the spider's backstory. Hope Haji-sensei picks it up again in the future!

Okay well, that was something. The visuals for this manga are great and I'm sure a lot of people will be satisfied with the yaoi scenes, if not left with a bit of longing for something more. I want to talk about the story and plot, though. I really loved Jin I thought he was very sweet and his way of ageing was interesting. What I'm hoping for this manga though is a definite sequel so the mangaka can explain the main characters background further. I'm a bit disappointed because it seemed as if it was going down that path but instead, it diverted and then focused on the characters' relationship. Then the final two chapters were devoted to a story set in the future about Nanao the octopus.
I really think the author will do a sequel because it seems strange to leave the two main characters where she did.

It was a cute story of a monk and a spider demon. The story was not that predictable. Some few feel's, and the side story was adorable. Well done over all. Worth the time reading it.
(1st 6 chapters are the main story, the last 2 chapters are the side story with a catch up of the main couple in the end).
