The premise and the start aren't bad but if you skim an bit of the novel's last chapter you'll understand why you shouldn't read this .

I mean, the MC before he died was completely a thug, but he randomly gets a superior moral standing for no reason at all and pushes it on the entire universe
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
LITERALY and not just that, he pushes it onto an entire multiverse .And just as your average bland and generic LN MC he
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
turns into a god
from my POV the stays a selfish genocide thug from start to end.

MC is so painfully pacifistic even the ending was weak and unfulfilling regarding what happened to his enemies. Can't believe I followed this shit for years. Kinda ruins the anime for me now since I know cannonicaly it's gonna end shit.

Slimy adventures
by JetGT

It's a fun read, but most of the characters is too flat. There is no depth to their characters. Battles are extremely lackluster. There is no moment that I felt the protagonist was going to be in trouble. Granted, MC usually have some form of immunity to death, but tension drives actions. If I don't feel any fear for the protagonist and wondered whether he/she make it through with all limbs intact then I'm not all that invested.

This story is just a self-indulging pleasure. Also, what with the disproportional retribution? The author really went off the rail with torture scenes. Maybe he secretly a sadist wink

This is a super interesting read!! but the action is a little dull.

This is a super interesting read!! the only down fault is that the MC&friend is too OP which make the battle a little dull.

What I like in this novel the most is the aspect of the world building and MC personality(&his op skill).
Since the MC has no gender, the romance/harem probably won't happen. (Even though many girls and one guy fall for him, there no reaction at all.)

As for MC personality, you can describe with one word "Generous". He will accept/promise anyone who ask a request from him. And he will keep bestow a power to people without thinking much of it too.(I am always worry for him if he will find a bad guy and was deceived!!)
But this generous guy have an OP skill so he probably not being deceived easily. (Yup!! thanks!! skill-kun)

Oh! but after he
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
became a demon lord.
He has more cruel side to his personality.
I guess many of the reader probably not notice this because he still act generous toward his friends and good persons. But for someone who hurt his friend or city, he will act as a true devil with some cruel torture.

All in all this is a light read and enjoyable story. You will get a difference change from the hero/human side of view to how a monster forming a kingdom to attract human and other race and gain influent in the world.

And yes, it's funny how this kingdom of monster will turn out.

Good, Just lacks long term depth
by WuxMan

This is a good little read. Has some very funny moments but becomes so-so after a while. At one point the author attempts to switch to more of a magical adventure theme, however it is simply lacking any depth. The MC never really faces any challenges or danger and doesn't really develop any connection to readers.

Romance. None, 60 chapters in and only some one sided love which is actually never really explained or developed it just acts for a few comedy moments. While very light hearted, it seems that some of the comedy aspects the author added since its typical wacky Japan, actually hurts any attachment to characters.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
MC has no gender, unable to remake his male appendage. However somehow later in the story he develops into a girl which is skimmed over but hurts alot of character development. Also it leads me to question why all the girls are falling for another girl, yet none of the boys seem to have any reaction to this young girl with a very pretty face... oh how sometimes a silly comedy one time gag can deeply injure story/character development and make things seem forced.

Weak to strong doesn't really apply since the first battles we see are one sided massacres with 0 difficulty making him already strong from the start.

The story is very good for a laugh and a giggle. Just dont expect much else other than the comedy side of things, without the comedy this would be below average. Which just goes to show how good some of the comedy is.

If you only read one fantasy reincarnation story, read this one

The story has numerous overlapping plots and world building elements. The characters are powerful without feeling invincible or infallible. The personalities are distinctive and in many cases eccentric. This doesn't get bogged down by new skills and crafting. There is a good mix between action and build up. This is about as good as it gets for this genre.

edit: Read up to chapter 57.

Fun light read, lacking in tension though
by alphaGulp

This one is quite a bit of fun in that it basically takes a real, regular 'nice guy' and turns him into an OP slime in a fantasy setting. The MC is such a friendly and inherently helpful person that he can't help but want to try to synergize with the people and creatures he meets, and together they seem to be building towards lots of good times, which MAKES SENSE.

His attitude towards things is entirely positive (he carries no resentment), so it feels like a breath of fresh air compared to most LNs out there.

But where it fails a bit is that the MC is way too OP and his challenges aren't challenging enough, so there isn't enough tension, frankly.

Perhaps another weakness is in the side characters being too simple minded, but that kind of falls back towards the challenges being too easy to clear.

But even then it's still quite a bit of fun, and it has gotten a lot easier to find and read the chapters now, compared to before. Thank you to everyone translating and hosting this fun little story! smile

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
One laughable detail though is in how the only people to ever get abducted/teleported over to this fantasy world are Japanese! Yes, and Japanese swords are better, and so is Japanese-style bathing, and all sorts of other things, so it's just as well that nothing 'foreign' is present to mar or complicate things too much... (LOL)

P.S. IMO, It starts to lose its way later on, unfortunately, when the author spends way too much time with the details of what happens to generic 'bad' side characters no one cares about. In general, it is way too easy to predict how everything will turn out, and the bad guys are so dumb and archetypal that it is a pain to read their dialogues.

The fun parts are with the slime and his minions (whom you want to see grow and win, even if it's a bit too easy), but instead you'll get chapters with 90% of the text describing interactions between sub-intelligent generic bad guys you KNOW are just going to get pwnd in just a few chapters anyway...

---

Update: ugh! Later on, the MC becomes hugely passive-aggressive, with his reaction to anyone harming his minions being ridiculously beyond reason.

The 'nice guy' MC is in fact a monster who is willing to inhumanly torture people using magic (ex: feeding them their own body parts and then healing them so they can chop up some more 'meat' to feed to them).

WTH is the matter with these LN writers and their mad desire to torture and terrorize everyone? What a disappointment!

Very Fun Read

A novel about someone reincarnating into a slime. Although this genre is already overused, it's still a pretty refreshing story as it has it's uniqueness. Unlike Re:Monster's dark theme, this novel is relatively lighthearted and an enjoyable read.

The Web novel is translated starting with Tsal translations and currently by Henouji.wordpress.com, but the first few chapters by Tsal translations of WN is a bit hard to read.

The Light Novel is being translated too from Chinese by translators at Alyschu.wordpress.com , and the quality of the translations are quite good compared to the first few chapters of the translated WN. If you have problem reading the start of WN it's a good choice to read the LN
