"I can't be loved for who I am, that's what I thought. But somehow, he saw through my lies?!"

Chitose has always done well wearing her face like a mask: always smiling, always cute. She feels complete whenever she put it on because it's built to hide her unrefined self: no one hates her, and no one makes fun of her. But after meeting a cute boy who is instinctively more annoyed by her mask than her real self, can Chitose change and make people accept her for who she really is?

Very cute, though it drops its premise pretty quickly

Honestly I'm glad it ended up being more about art school than the initial "I put up a mask" premise, since that sort of absurdly self-aware high school character is pretty cliche at this point...

I enjoyed this series a lot, it was a fairly wholesome romance without too much unnecessary drama/misunderstandings. I would've loved if they'd gotten more into the story of their college lives rather than dragging so much throughout high school years, but shoujo romance, what ya gonna do. The mangaka's gorgeous artwork definitely kept my attention, and there was enough plot that the 9vol didn't feel as excessive as series that length sometimes do. Overall recommend the read!

Absolutely loved watching these 2 progress through not just their romantic relationship but also their own art development through art cram school. Definitely has elements of a typical shoujo but the way the mangaka decided to focus on their personal growth instead of relationship drama. Highly recommend!

Relatable and doesn't focus only in romantic relationships but the character development

I loved this manga♡♡♡

I don't know which part is cliche(since many have said this is a cliche shoujo manga. I guess I've read a much worse cliche manga that I didn't notice any here?) but for me, the story is very realistic and is told well. I can understand people saying that Chitose cries a lot but I find it understandable. I'm one of those people who HATES the lead girl who are weak-willed and who cries easily, but I didn't hate Chitose at all.

The author could be just doing it because Itsuki-kun is just a sadist and loves to see Chitose cry xD For me, she's just that emotional and true to herself that she can now easily show her true feelings to others(that has been hidden and bottled up for a long time) since she had always put her mask on.

She can only show these expressions to the people she trusts like Itsuki-kun and her friends.

I didn't find her annoying at all; it's more like her character is understandable.

Itsuki-kun though, I find his character unique. He says harsh words and says sorry the next; he did this like many times now with Chitose. Poor girl xD But what I love from this two is that they don't prolong their problem(like your typical shoujo manga; they love the drama so they let the characters not talk about it until the problem grew bigger).

If ever the two of them don't know how to resolve it, their friends(mostly Onii-san/Itsuki-sensei/Yui-san is the one who'd noticed it first and help them fix the problem) would be there to help and support them.

Many people can relate about having a mask or facade on just to please or not be hated by people; and having to choose a university and course that you really loved to go and take, and that you are passionate enough to strive for it. I also learned a lot about drawing here as well since I also took somewhat an art course which made me relate a little. I wanted to read more manga like this T^T

Currently in chap 26. I would definitely wait for the update.

the heroine can be quite cute but also annoying and overbearing. you can definitely see her growth from someone who hides their true self to someone who expresses herself. although i find her too pushy, and her methods a little too inconsiderate so ultimately i had to drop it because she could be so cringey.

I'm a little surprised how much I enjoyed this manga so far. It does have some typical shoujo cliches but its touching and the heroine develops as a person. There is just something quite endearing about it.

more than one way it seems like a very typical shoujo where the girl hides her true self that only the main guy doesn't like, but trust me halfway through the first chapter you'll realize it's not like that and it's quite funny too, so give it a shot and after the first chapter if you're not hooked, you're not hooked
