Didn't go far enough

I like that the seme is a crazy stalker, but they didn't do anything with that premise. It wasn't played for laughs, and it wasn't deep or dark enough to tickle my psychological kink. The seme really should have been more creepy and intense and unhinged, but he wasn't, so it was all just tell, not show. Every other character comments on how crazy he is, but I didn't really see it. So yeah, they didn't push this premise far enough and so the tension never built up to anything satisfying. What a waste.

Tries too hard to be edgy.

You can kinda sense when a BL mangaka is trying too hard to be edgy because they know that kinda stuff is popular.
For one, I don't think this is the kind of manga Papiko likes to do, so that might have to do with why it feels forced.
I don't think she knows that subtlety works better sometimes and she went into it too fast, and then made it really stupid right away. The tachi is really stupid and not in an endearing way, and I felt distaste for that right away.
She's doing the themes I like but pulling them off in a really cheesy way.
There is this twist and some things I like, but they were not very well executed.
There's a world of difference between the kind of dark psychological ambience Nakamura Asumiko can do and the kind that comes from Diabolik Lovers... and this seems kinda from the latter kind?
After finishing it... to be honest, this manga is a mess.

I read the whole volume in one go (btw, thanks to the scanlators ^_^). And, I find not only art, angst and tensions, but as well flow and smoothness of the story very good. I am truly entertained. ^_^

Yamada Papiko always deliver readable manga but her stories tend to be a bit more dramatic than they have to be. That's not really my thing but in the end I really enjoyed seeing these boy find happiness together.

This author's style is really not my cup of tea and probably will not be any time soon. The first two chapters in this manga were especially painful for me to plough through; all those god-awful BL tropes gave me massive headaches.

As a whole it turned out better than what I usually expect from the mangaka, but that's not saying much tbh. She seems to struggle a lot with characterisation, which is why I much prefer her doujinshi entries because characters would already have been established for her, saving her from painful attempts at writing new ones.

Another huge turn off for me is the overdramatic facial expressions that the mangaka abuses in her drawings. And the plots she comes up with are terrible too - it's like she can't even write a decent story even if her life depends on it.
