What the hell...

Yoru and Asaichi and this band are such a dysfunctional mess at times. I'm not into Asaichi being a fkboi and treating Yoru like his personal toyhole. That being said, Yoru is very infatuated with him so I suppose it works out? Lots of smut, it's hot when it needs to be. It was painful when "the one scene" happens. That felt a bit out of left field, but seeing as we are introduced to Shiori and her brother, it's not a complete blindside.

Honestly, it's funny that Shiori's brother enjoys all this music from having to listen to it because Shiori is just dragging him around. This world is also connected to Yatamomo and that's neat.

I'm just uncomfortable with what I just saw. I don't fully buy into Yoru and Asaichi's relationship, as hot as it was at times.

Perfect balance of Harada

This has a great balance of all the elements I love in Harada's "lighter" works. It's funny, but not shallow. There's drama, but it's not overpowering. There's a teensy bit of agony to remind you you're reading Harada. There's fucked up sex, extremely hot sex, and hilarious sex. (The best, and Harada's super special skill, is when it's all three at once—which definitely happens here.)

And if non-con/dub-con aren't your thing, that's completely understandable. It comes up more than once here. But Harada has a way of making those scenes hot AND dramatic without completely negating the psychological impact on the characters.

I wouldn't necessarily call this "accessible" for complete newcomers, but it's definitely a good entry point to Harada.

What I really want, though, is more Iori. My heart sank a little when I realized he wasn't a main character. I started out thinking Asaichi was a total scumbag, but by the end I was really rooting for him.

Violent and passionate

I personally really dig this setting of a band for a story that revolves around such head-strong and resilient characters. It provides a somewhat more believable ground for subsequent events that stem from clashing personalities and internal conflicts, preventing all the violence and gruesome wrongdoings from feeling too overdone and overused just for the sake of a dramatic turnout, which is sadly not the case for all of Harada's works imo. The story certainly is 'hot' in many aspects, but it's the hidden warmth burning in its heart that really sets this unique tale apart. I also love the depiction of youths here, which even though is overdramtised still succeeds at transpiring the passionate and daring nature that youth ultimately is all about.

O.O

This has shaken me up badly but I confess I liked it. The characters are pretty messed up (the masochistic uke annoys me even more than the terrible, terrible seme). But the story is intense and gripping and I read it in one go. Not for the faint-hearted, but exciting enough...

Warnings up the wazoo

The plotting and pacing in this manga are spot on, there's hardly a chance to catch your breath as the action barrels forward. However, this manga is NOT for the faint of heart, there is a lot of violence, rape, dubious consent and sexual torture, that said, none of it is glorified or for titillation, it fits the story and furthers the plot.

Realistic violence

Violence is VERY ugly in this manga. The authors skills make a reader unable to go through it undisturbed. That said, I really liked this title for the plot, nicely developed characters and art style.

Freaking glorious.

Chapter 5 is super heavy, be warned. Added squick of

being forced to swallow urine by a third party rapist. Grossness of that aside, I'll probably still buy the tankoubon.

There are a lot of nopes in this manga... Including the minus point on the "only gay for you" thing. Why can't they just say
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
"I don't know, I've only ever fallen for you"? Another complaint I have is not being able to see more of their performance as dual vocalists together.

Asaichi's not a likable character--he's a complete bastard, and Yoru's love for him seems overly fluffy at times. Shiori's bro's
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
affections for Yoru also seem unresolved and kinda cut off at a weird point--and it was strange to start the story from his POV when the story revolved around Yoru and Asa.

That aside--Yoru's absolutely captivating. The sex scenes are incredible? ?? I usually don't care that much about the sex scenes, but www oooowowo. High-level.
And Yoru's affections for Asaichi actually make sense and we see the reasons behind it. So it's not a "infatuation at first sight" thing.
It's dark, yet a bit fluffy too at times. It goes super dark at other times. It's not a light read, and it's a rollercoaster but gooood is it glorious.
I may have been a bit overly generous with the score, but I really like the main characters' dynamics in the end.

Disturbing but good

I love Harada. It doesn't matter how fucked up or dark Harada's stories get, I still can't help but finish them and enjoy them. But this one was the first that took me over half a year to dare continue reading. But eventually I came back and finished it, with the promise of a happy ending and it sure didn't let me down!

This story starts with some of the hottest sex scenes a "public sex scenes"-lover like me have ever read. At the first read I found it disturbing how Asaichi acts, but eventually I came to love his character for what it was. At chapter 5 I found myself dropping this for that half year I mentioned earlier. But the two chapters following are the sweet redemption I needed! It gives me all I needed to really love this story, just like I do all of Harada's other works.
