I'm not touching the sex position debate -- just eww, people, I'm disappointed (tsk)m it's 2024. As for the story, it was very good, cute, unusual, uplifting. I probably would have given it a 10 if it wasn't for Ferrari stuff. I like my reads a tad more relatable haha

Excellent oneshot

Story-wise, a oneshot is always too short to develop characters, set-up a plot an a credible obstacle to the end-goal. I wish the story would have been stretched on 2 volumes worth of story, so that characters and story would get a better development.
That said, the art is gorgeous and more importantly, I absolutely love the non conventional top-bottom pairing.

The older tall aloof is the uke while the younger smaller emotional guy is the seme

It reminds me of Naono Bohra's best couples, and with asked and voiced consent, to spoil nothing.

Tsundere done wrong
by HoshiSama

For me this is the epitome of bad tsundere. The seme’s mood swings are constant between two emotional states; blushing moe blob, and pouty. He lacks any real characterization and instead spends most of the story worrying that he’s unlikable in a way that manages to make it true. If his emotional states weren’t both off-putting highs then it might be more tolerable. That contrasted with the uke’s calm demeanor makes them a really awkward and unbelievable couple. I think Sensei was going for gap moe, but all she managed to achieve was imbalance. The conflict of the story is that the seme is useless and annoying and the uke is too perfect. If that had been the perceived issue instead of the truth maybe it would have been a better story. On the positive side, Sensei’s art is beautiful as always.

I really Love the Uke. He was calm and collected most of time. Makes sense since he's much older and all. But when he shows his selfish and some confidence in front of his Lover's Sister, that he was (hoping) confident that his Lover would go back to him, that was such a Perfect Touch! I'm glad that he can feel a little bit selfish even when he felt hopeless.
The Seme is already Great Character with Flaws and all. His characteristic was pretty common in many manga, but his drunk side and his growing more mature side and even his childish side combined made him a bit different in a Good way. The Conflict was well written too.
It was Great Nice Manga~!

Me Likei

Besides the absolutely glamorous art style, and the lovely home, it's quite interesting to see that the tailor profession isn't just a pop, nor is it discarded as soon as the couple gets together, but is followed through. Though, I am a bit let down by how the sister's character got panned out, the starting was very promising and I wish that line had been continued.
Overall, however, I like this because it fulfills one of the most basic criteria I have for good manga with romance and slice of life settings: consensual sex and a loving nurturing relationship.

My Scarlet Beriko favourite

For me, this manga is the best of Scarlet Beriko. It was simply adorable with the good amount of smut in the right moments. I loved how the relationship between main characters progressed. I love how they didn't just jump into it at the first chapter but rather got to know each other. I loved the time they spent with each other before they got together. I'm not a fan of an age gap, it's just not working for me, but this one... This one was just so good.
I would also give this manga a huge plus for uke/seme situation. Out of scheme, loved it.
Definitely recommend for people looking for naturally progressing relationship and approachable age gap type of manga.

disjointed and choppy

I wonder if I read the same series as the other people commenting...this was really underwhelming considering the quality of some of Beriko's other works.

I don't know if it was the hella awkward translation or just bad writing, but the plot seemed to rush forward and skip over important parts when I wanted some character development. Like they just started to get a little physical with each other and then....we skip to when they've already done it four times?! This isn't a Cohen brothers film! Their relationship confused me because it felt like there was pieces missing where their chemistry could be established. In the end, all the drama fell flat for me and I couldn't even tell you what the names of the characters are because they were so poorly established. I just remember the general stereotypes of tsundere ojou-sama and an oji-san

I wish we went a little more into the tailor’s backstory, but that’s OK. I thought they made a cute couple and it was refreshing to not have their personalities totally based on their position preferences during sex (which gets old REALLY fast). I really liked the tailor the best, and I enjoyed that the age difference wasn’t done in a creepy way (no one was in high school).

I think I'm a sucker for yaoi manga that don't play into the idea that uke and seme have particular traits that define their role in a relationship. I think I'm even more of a sucker for grounded uke who know what they want. And there's the part where they both work in fine art professions and love what they do. So if you're into any of that, read this since it kinda hit all these sweet spots of mine.

As for the art, Scarlet Beriko has a certain style that just works wonderfully for yaoi.

And if you've made it this far, yeah, it's fairly difficult for me to be objective about this manga. I'll admit the latter part is a bit shoe horned and almost a tangential afterthought. It would overall need to be a bit more tightly written.

I've rated it as a 10 but in my heart it's not actually a 10. In the first 2-3 chapters the seme of this story had many uke-traits, he was a huge tsundere and acted like a girl. At the same time, the uke of this story had a very dominant/macho vibe and was very cool. Then, the mangaka seemed to have changed her mind and made the couple assume the opposite positions in bed and change their characters completely. The uke became insecure and fragile while the seme was at times assertive and at times childish.
The art was cute and the setting of the story was unique and refreshing, however, I didn't like the incosistencies in the plot and their character reformation. I do recommend it though, as a nice read to pass your time.
