An incredibly unique novel whose only downside is the author's excessive love for anime which somehow made him think basing his characters on existing anime characters was a good Idea. Besides that, the novel is a gem, interesting setting and cultivation, a very interesting and unique main character and best of all very enjoyable and well-written interactions between the characters and the story. Comedy is top notch as well.

Absolute Choice reminds me of those dumb stupid hero tropes of American and Japanese comics in which MC goes on a journey to save the world after suffering some tragedy. Yeap! Oh I'm not spoiling anything. You can feel the stupid vibes from start. Author couldn't think of anything better to serve as a motivation for the protagonist.

Absolute Choice is a mixture of copying stupid superhero tropes along with usual xuanhuan elements. Did I said that copying the character design from other works as well? Well, the cherry for this lovely cake is the dense protagonist who author wants us to believe is smart. Being naive as a child is fine but even children are not so dense!!!

Then there is how stupid the misunderstandings are (they are funny for the first time). A character who has lived for countless years get so easily fooled by a misunderstanding and starts loving our dense protagonist! Being a million year old monster means she can easily get fooled. Reason: she is a virgin! Such smart writing! Author deserves award for this.

The only good thing about this novel is the English translations.

The main character has a severe (like to the nth power) case of chuunibyou syndrome. He thinks he's the coolest person, thinks that everything he does is awesome. Now for a daydreaming 11 year old kid maybe you would love this story b/c the main character speaks directly to you. But for the rest of us, he's beyond annoying! He refers to himself as King and talks down to everyone. He acts childish whenever possible and the author absolutely loves the personality of the MC so my assumption is that the MC will always be that way. I think I read 25 or so chapters before giving up in frustration. Don't waste your time unless you too have chuunibyou.

Right off the bat the story puts the MC is put into a tough situation, stumbling and trying his best to work with that he got against this time-loop of choices. Very interesting premise. I was enjoying seeing his weird chuunibyou personality being tested, maturing to overcome the obstacle.. but then after the first hurdle... I was patiently waiting for next choice-loop hurdle... and waiting... then Saitama from One Punch-Man cameoed out of nowhere.. I started getting worried. After a few more chapters, a few more elementary jokes/cliches being stretched out for chapters on end, I knew this was garbage.

Yeah, the next choice-loop hurdle will come and might make this story interesting again, but who cares? This author has shit for brains for pacing and using characters from other established stories to help his world building shows his lack of creativity. And our MC after experiencing a life and death struggle in the intro seems to revert right back to his old chuunibyou ways showing no signs of emotional development. If it's there, the author will drag that shit out for way too long.

So many better stories out there.. why waste time with this elementary garbage?

Plot:
A 13 year old boy (probably Chinese) got transported to a parallel earth right after his game character just die on his computer video game. How he got "transported" is unknown and how long he been there (parallel earth) is unknown at the start of "chapter 1". This parallel earth is similar if not the same as earth in term of scientific technology and certain countries name & places existence with the only difference in that it also has people with superpower and supernatural monster that threaten humanity. Did he (MC) just arrive or was he homeless? that is the question on chapter 1 that really was never answer.

Main Character:
I would personally call the Main Character as an annoy idiot because of his full blown Chuunibyou mode 90% of the time. The 10% where he not in Chuunibyou mode are when his life is in danger or if he has request for someone in order get stronger. Or else he stay in Chuunibyou mode regardless time and place 24/7. I really want to hit him and yell "there are time and place" and no I don't really hate the main character, I just want him to grow up a little. There will be characters that will call our MC "country bumpkin" which in truth there are some truth to it as in one chapter reveal a bit of his background when he was still on earth when he was young in traumatic episode of his life. Because he keep saying alot of Nonsense while in Chuunibyou mode, alot of people will misunderstand him while sometime calling him a liar while other time a pervert. Oh by the way; our main character a 13 year old young man who is a "country bumpkin" believes that having a "girlfriend" is bad thing which he was told of this by someone close to him who fail at getting one when he was young. Our main character is still at the stage of not understand the meaning of "love" (for the opposite gender) and the relationship to it, but it not like he not curious about it when it present itself to him however usually he don't care.

Story:
Long story short; MC want to be a hero (reason for being Chuunibyou) but know he weak so he want to be stronger.

I will stated this; the 1st two arc of the story still didn't stop me from thinking of the main character as an idiot fool who run his mouth yet for some reason power by the luck of the "author" design he will survive. Only when the 3rd arc started that I think of the MC as less of a fool but he still an idiot. I do agree with the author that he not stupid, but he still an fool.

So for all the people who want to read this; please be cautious that you may not like MC way of speaking and you must get past through his foolishness in the 1st two arc before the interesting thing start in 3rd arc.
