3 Volumes (Complete)

The actual "friends-or-not" between the main characters was interesting and I thought the story was just long enough to explore it thoroughly.
I really don't mind an open ending.
(If you like this kind of story I'd highly recommend Here and There and Us which was just beautiful.)
I could have done without the older ex-boyfriend, so irritating.
Forget him being in a relationship with a high schooler 10 years younger than him and dumping him for not being mature enough --- him morphing into some kind of big brother figure and meddling with his ex-boyfriend's and his friends' love life was creepy by itself. Urgh. I'm usually not too fussy about age gap relationships, but inviting a bunch of high school boys for a sleep over, suggesting bathing together and sleeping in the same bed, and then having him be the nice guy looking out for the boys was bizarre.
I loved Morinaga's character, great energy, I'd like to read a BL about him.
It's basically just a "define the relationship" simulator between Noshiro and Sanada.
In the end, the exact words to define their relationship don't really matter and that's what we end on. There's a nice variety of lively characters, Sanada's childhood friend Yamamoto is very sweet and understanding of Sanada's situation, and we love a nice, kind supportive female friend. Morinaga is a bit too genki for his own good, but I don't hate his intentions? It was pretty obvious he wasn't gonna get his prize in the end, but that's fine.
It's a very laidback sort of manga, where we're just waiting for a breakthrough between our two male leads, and it's very soft and non-threatening? Everyone looks very smooth-like in the art style and it's a simple and cute art style. I just wish it gave me more energy or excitement.
