Description

A skillful secretary by day and choosy cruiser by night, Suha is a young professional who’s in search of some no-strings-attached action. He hasn’t had much luck lately, though, since a handsome face doesn’t always match what’s in a guy’s pants. This might be why he finds himself wondering about his dreamboat boss, Director Park Jiwoon. Yes I agree Do Hyeok is an A88. There is no forgiveness for him. But y'all look how he has been raised by his grandma, who put lots of pressure on the poor guy. Yes, DH is manipulative to Suha too but Suha ain't INNOCENT one. Neverthesless, we have seen that human being is a mass of error. DH really needs help, I mean he need redemption. Let him have his REDEMPTION.

I assume he is not a bad guy, his circumstances were bad. He is desperate for love.

So I am petitioning for Do Hyeok story with redemption for him and side by side he Siwoo will help HIM to be a better person then it would be cherry on top.

ch11 and ~ch20; very much… dubious consent. Top is coercive and possessive, and is literally bottom MC’s boss.

ch28 Top is called out on the fact the bottom might be pressured into not saying no and backs off the relationship until the bottom enthusiastically consents/pursues him (yay)

ch49, Top is hard while drunk and unconscious and the bottom inserts the top's dick into him.

ch75: Top manipulates the bottom to keep him captive

ch100: Top forces the bottom

This series is ok at best, I remember buying all the chapters in lezhin, then started to follow the author in tw until some drama about piracy, earnings and a potential strike started there and several authors joined in, including this one. Don't get me wrong here, I'm obviously against illegal stuff if an official translation is available for a reasonable price.

The reason why I give this series is a 1 is because it's actually mid and, during the drama I previously mentioned, these authors started blocking all their non-korean followers assuming that all of us, even the ones that were actually paying for their work, were pirating their series and harassing them. Some of the comments made by these people at that time were honestly? disgusting. A number of them even implied that no one other than koreans deserved to read their work(?) and, that if we were foreigners we shouldn't be even interacting with them on social media, that we should "just shut up and pay" or something of sorts? another author even said she was thinking on hiring a hitman to get rid of the individual that uploaded some chapters of her series to an illegal site or something like that? wtf (I'm not joking, I even have screenshots) so yeah, in the end I stopped reading/buying the stupid thing along with all the series of the other authors involved in that simply because I won't support with my money such level of disrespect to foreign fans even if they're right in some points.

(I also forgot to mention that Chahyun blocked me and many many others specifically for our english names/usernames in the AMERICAN platform Twitter/X, lol)

Tried but fell short of being a great story

The main story has a potential to be much better than it ended up being. In the end the story that had great sex scenes, but left a lot of loose ends leaving us with a unpolished story with a lot of potential. I did appreciate that it was a happy ending…

As far as the side story, I don’t even understand the purpose of it. Usually, this is where the story is polished up or endings are given to major side characters. In the case of this story, it was an entire tangent about two major side characters that was completely unnecessary and did not add to the story. Providing a blend of dubious and non consensual sex scenes that gave more questions than answers and an “ending” that was not only not satisfying, but provided absolutely no character growth. In my opinion, the side story actually took away from the main story.

Angsty, with some interestiong depth but the grating cliches bog it down

If only this were a nuanced, deep dive into a psyche of a broken man, once a vibrant, sensitive child, who wa sleft by his own parents and brought up with a ruthless, coldblooded grandma, who didn't confine to rules to well, who felt left behind, who faked a personality his whole life, who had an unhealthy obsession with a person that he tried to crub but failed, and his way to healing and finding a meaningful relationship in bis life - this would be great. And there are many elements of this in the manhwa. While Suha is theoretically the ML, the MC, Jiwoo, gets so much more psychological development, simply because he needs it - Suha isn't as emotionally messed up, not by far, as Jiwoo. And Jiwoo's path to redemption, as we can call it that, is tragic and will bring sadness in your heart and a bit of tears to your eyes. Sadly, his backstory and what happened to his parents was never explained properly, and I find this an omission indeed, as this is literary the backbone of the whole story. Everything stemms from this abandoment issues he has.

But alas, this yaoi alos gets all the standard cliches most yaois have, and trust me they cheapen the experience. The bully,sadistic ex- lover who broke the ML's heart, the dubious best friend with an agenda of his own, a overtly severe and ambitious head of the family, who only cares about business and not about people - misunderstandings, lies, swindles... Ah. While it does manage to keep up the thriller pace, I somehow felt that this yaoi didn't need it. It literary just needed Suha, Jiwoo, and their thorny road to a more stable,normal relationship. But okay, what we do get here was okay. The art was solid - not my cup of tea, but I have to admit it was consistent and pretty good.
Overall, worth reading, just too bad it has so many superfluous elements.

More sex scenes than plot...
And Suha should use his fuc*ing brain from time to time, redhead does what he wants with Suha over and over again... and the only victim here is Jiwoon who gets hurt all the time now and in the past....poor guy, and author tried to make him a bad guy later... gosh

And when you think that it couldn't be worse...we have this pathetic side story... If anyone thinks anyone deserves to be raped, even someone as fucked up as redhead... there's something wrong with them...there is no excuse, noone deserves to be raped!! Gosh...those authors are more and more pathetic!!

I can't believe how obsessive and manipulative every LI is. The ML comes off as decent at first but he's creepy on another level, the supposed friend of the MC also doesn't seem very upright. The MC is pretty OK though, he has a multifarious personality. The writing itself is alright but the glimpses into the past of the characters really be giving nothing away and just disrupting the flow of the story.
