Lovely story

It's always nice to find a story that captivates you, and this is one of those stories for me.

It was obvious that the author had put a lot of love and care into most of his characters, adding personality to each of them. For example, while a lot of BL works would make the secondary female leads that like MC despicable, the secondary female lead was so endearing. I liked that even side characters that are typically used as two dimensional foils to the main characters got their own stories and development, which made them feel more human.

Too often I see characters that are almost too perfect and characters that are almost too horrid in stories that it becomes easy for me to instinctively know who is the one I should hate and love in that series. But in this story even characters you initially hate may grow on you, and I see myself in them and the way they grow reminds me that I can too, little by little.

One of the best BL reads I ever had! I'm not really fond of making reviews here in this platform but since I just finished all the side chapters of this, I'm pumped up to summarize my experience reading this gem.
Despite not having smuts, this manhwa kept me up at night giggling and rolling over my bed even if my family was sleeping with me (as we were spending a vacation at the beach lol). Can't help it; there were just too many funny and cute moments! Daun and Siwon are so adorable and good-looking characters; it's honestly a sin to hate them continuosly even with all the narcissm and all, and I also personally like the drama with the second couple too, which are Hoon and Bawoo. Kyungjin was very relatable to me as well as I believe that life could really make you feel pathetic that you couldn't meet up the expectations the society has for you (me). I'm not a real fan of GL but the characters portraying them weren't that bad. I was also touched by the fact that the author kept on working with this manhwa despite of what he's been going through while working on this project (regarding his mom's chemo then death later on). It's a sad story but I'm thankful that Tak bon shared it to the readers. I never expected this comic to be this good actually. I just thought it's a very cliche story that I will be forgetting after reading for a while, but it exceeded my expectations. It also gave me Never Understand/Out of Control vibes since the actual seggs were controlled, more like omitted, which was why I had trouble recognizing who's the top and bottom at first haha (now we all know Daun was top), although this one had it's own uniqueness and feel to it. Something that I probably won't forget and be grateful that I picked up (after being suggested to me by a member on my Facebook group). ❤️️

How did every single character (except the trash guy) in this mawha end up being so lovable and relatable? The main characters and their friends were obviously adorable as they dealt with loving themselves and each other, and sorting out their feelings amongst themselves. This was honestly the most wholesome thing ever. We dealt with so many topics. Insecurity, golden child syndrome, unrequited love, slandering, childhood trauma etc. and it wasn't done in an overly angsty way. It was entirely relatable. Yujin ended up making my heart hurt for her and her character development (or introspection) was superb. I love her more now because she didn't just apologise. She genuinely analysed herself and tried to figure out why she did what she did when she was confronted with someone sincere. I feel like that is what she was missing all that time. Someone who would be genuine and sincere to her. I loved the cousin as well. He left the situation as soon as he could, and once he was out of it, he reflected on himself and felt guilty for it. So many dimensions to these characters.

Although the story is based on a main couple and their story however the manhwa also has other multiple sets of characters interacting with themselves and the main couple. Enjoyable in overall pacing and depth of the story.

This was amazing. Tbh I didn't really like Daun at first-

I hate people/characters who dismiss other people's feelings the way Daun did with Siwon at first But this got resolved really quickly and wow, did Daun grow on me. All the characters grew on me, even Yoonjung. ! I usually don't emotionally invest myself in third party characters but Yoonjung was developed to be so much more than that, she's an amazing character and I love her. I liked Siwon from the start so I could only absolutely adore him by the end (along with the rest of the characters actually). The story itself was also amazing, it doesn't have a definite storyline so you're just kinda along for the ride, but what an enjoyable ride it is. It's obvious that this author actually cares; they care about the characters and how they develop and grow, they care about the story and messages they put out there for us to read, and that's always nice to see. My only qualm is that we didn't really get to see the ! resolution between Hoon and Bawoo but after reading the author's comments, I understand. Their story is most likely included in side stories.
At time of writing there are currently 3 side stories that have not yet been translated so I'm looking forward to that!

Refreshing characters

At first I thought this story would simply be a lighthearted run-of-the-mill romance with the common trope of main character transforms from unpopular to popular and then here comes along this new, popular nice guy that is secretly not so nice. But I was pleasantly surprised to find out more.

What sets this series apart is the characters. Even after 52 chapters, I still don't know everything about them. I even like the side characters, and I think that's the hallmark of a good series.

The main character is not just popular and nice for show. He worked hard to change himself, and he glowed up not just in looks but in his personality as well. He is genuinely a nice guy who cares for others. There is a part of the story about rumors, and the way the main character overcomes his trauma and handles the situation is admirable.

The male lead seems like an air-headed puppy at first, but there are hints of more under the surface. The way he empowers the main character by being confident in his words, actions, and ultimately himself is a lovely dynamic to see especially in BL. Like the main character, however, I am still finding out more about him.

There are four main side characters. Two of them are estranged childhood friends who meet up again in college, and I have been enjoying their story. But honestly, I am a sucker for childhood friend plots especially with opposites attract. Sue me. Another side character is the female love rival, and I enjoyed how she wasn’t written to be just another evil woman getting in the way of the main characters' romance. She is a genuinely kind person with feelings and emotions that the main characters also acknowledge.

The plot itself isn’t anything uncommon. They’re college students, but the characters are lovely and I have enjoyed reading about them.

Easily One of my Faves

I don’t really read a lot of BL but the concept of this one really drew me in, and the execution (and art) made me stay. It sounded like a fun read, and it truly is.

First off, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE WAY THE SIDE CHARACTERS ARE INTRODUCED. At first, they’re faceless background characters with dull colors. But when they’re introduced, they POP with color, exude personality, and the fine details appear.

The personalities of a lot of characters are lovable, and the comedy is ACTUALLY funny. It’s not just a bunch of panels littered with “funny” faces. The timing is just right imo. I can’t say much about the romance (I can’t put it into words). I’ve never really been a fan of multiple romances (?) happening at once (because I tend to favor one over the other / others), but I have to say, all of these relationships are thoroughly enjoyable. I don’t remember the last time I sincerely wished the best for fictional characters, but here I am.

There aren’t too many characters, so it’s easy for me to follow. Their names are also simple. I can’t believe that I remember character names (for once).

The art is awesome. Not once was I displeased by it. Of course there’s fanservice, but like Peintresse said, it’s not overbearing.

Sweet, Funny BL

Really funny deadpan comedy, over-the-top dramatics and scenarios. Characters are all quite likeable and interesting too, and watching them interact is really hilarious. That’s not to say that the plot isn’t good either…! It sucks you right in from chapter one, and watching characters grow and evolve is so interesting. (Especially the MCs’ relationship…) Some heartfelt moments hit really hard, and the slowburn is sooo good.
For a BL series, too, it doesn’t overly rely on female-pandering fanservice (though it is present), instead, its characters and humour carry it ahead of the crowd. Easy 9/10
