I've just finished it so the emotions are fresh but, wow, this BL was incredible and stands apart from many others i've read. Even though I certainly enjoyed the smut, the character development and exploration of childhood trauma/lack of affection in childhood and the effect on relationships in adulthood was really well done. there was lots of really open and vulnerable communication, and some deep self reflection.

The writing was excellent and I felt the catharsis as both Namwoo and Si-eon went through their own emotional journeys >! and came back around together in the end. It was beautiful watching Si-eon finally really look at himself and finally face his trauma and be true to himself at last. I'm terrible at turning my thoughts into words, so apologies if this is not coherent, but I just loved this so much. It moved me deeply, i cried, i cringed, i smiled.

I'll have to come back and edit this later with more thoughts, because this review feels inadequate.

It's hard to come up with anything to say when this story was just so perfect. I put off continuing it after Namwoo first said "I love you" cause I couldn't predict how things would go down, and that I was scared they might never have a happy ending. But the author exceeded all my expectations, she made both Namwoo and Sieon to be such incredible characters, relatable yet fascinating. Their dynamic is one of a kind, and their love feels so real, and the English translation is absolutely perfect. I'm left with some questions about that red haired guy and sunbae but I'm not even that concerned right now because how fulfilled I feel after finishing this. I would totally recommend this to anyone

Somewhat bland

I ended up dropping after reading up to Ch 25 b/c I felt no compelling reason since it's the usual bottom has ALOT of debt and top just buys his way out of problems in life.

It's a shame since I'm fan of big bottom x small top but I kept being distracted and thinking I wish I was reading something else atm.

Art is nice?

What a incredible twist! After reading tons or red flag yaoi, and seeing people always prefer green flags, we finally have a manhwa which has an extremely green flag seme, but with a catch - he doesn't really love his uke. Ha ha, take that! No, truly, SiYeon, as a seme, is the best seme in the world when you look at ta from a perspective of being a supportive partner - he's always there for namwoo, buys him everything, has enough understand for his whims, tries very, very hard to cater to his needs and so on. He just doesn't love him. And boy, this creates such a wonderfully realistic but oh so painful emotional entanglement. And I LOVE this manhwa for it! it's not overtly dramatic,there is nothing over the top about it, and everybody is written as a two dimensional character, instead of yaoi cliches. After criticizing so many red flag semes, we have the exact opposite problem here. Would you like to be with a man who treats you wonderfully, but his affections for you are shallow and not profound? What woudl you rather choose? A difficult red flag seme, or a paper thin very nice green flag seme? Some interesting questions are raised here. The perfect seme would be a mix of those two, without the bad parts of either and with just the good parts remaining. He he, not so easy finding them in fiction or real life, agree?

And Namwoo and Siyeon are so cute, endearing, complex, you love them and want to strangle them the next moment - just like in real life. While I found their background to be a bit yaoi cliches (poor drunken parents and emotionally distant rich parents), and there are some cliches in the story, one can simply slide over it and enjoy the warm and sexy as heck push and pull between the uke and the seme. And the art is gorgeous! Without any further ado, just read this! Anyone who wants more from a manhwa will not regret it!

A very nice character-driven BL story

If you want to read smut-focus with no plot, this is not for you. But if you want to read a character-focus story with well-written character development and healthy relationship of the couple, this is for you.

What I don’t like about this story is that though the couple have only 10 years age gap, Si-Eon looks so much older than Namwoo, maybe because of the old-fashioned glasses too.😆

What I like about this story is that
1 - Though it has some drama, it’s not dramatic enough to make you feel stressed. It’s just there for the story. So you can read at ease.
2 - I thought Si-Eon’s ex appearing would get in the way of Si-Eon and Namwoo’s relationship but it doesn’t. He still loves Si-Eon but he doesn’t go back to him knowing they are not compatible and Si-Eon’s lack of love towards him. He even gave useful advice to Namwoo.
3 - Namwoo is very loyal to Si-Eon(and vice versa) though the start of their relationship is lack of romantic feelings. His former feelings for his senior didn’t get in the way too since they’re already faded so there’s no messy relationships or annoying love triangles.
4 - Most characters say Si-Eon is an asshole because he dated people without romantic feelings for them. But it’s because he’s used to make others happy while not realizing his own needs. He basically sees himself as a convenience store like letting people in easily and letting them go easily which he believes that it’s respecting his partner’s decision.
He feels happy to be needed but didn’t realize what he needed was someone who won’t leave his side no matter what.
Yes, “Good things can be done with selfish intentions” like it’s said in the story, but I can’t see him as a bad person.

Overall, it‘s worth my time. I would love to see more meaningful stories like Love For Sale.✨

THIS IS REALLY GOOD! If you’re looking for a really great read, this is it! It is a love story but it focuses more on their traumas/anxieties - how the couple were able to heal because of the love they have for each other. The side stories were also really sweet! It’s a mature and well-written story. I’ve read a lot of BL/yaoi and this one is a breath of fresh air!

PS. Contrary to the other review, it may not be your usual BL love story but it does have A VERY SATISFYING HAPPY ENDING. That review kinda spoiled it for me, I really thought it won’t have one so I was really preparing myself for the worst. So I feel the need to correct that part for future readers

Damn such a mature and everyday story. I loved it! Drama doesn't feel superficial, characters very honest and ower all it makes you feel good in the end. Loved charter design, loved smaller top, loved there dynamic.
