It's hard to put into words just how much I love this novel.
First of all, we have both an adult main character and an adult heroine, and to top it off there is no harem. And I mean that seriously, there are a total of zero love rivals or anything like that.
It's very funny and heartwarming, and I found myself squealing like a little girl (in my head at least) more than once.
The author is also very self aware of light novel characters and romcom tropes/cliches, and every so often references them, makes fun of them, or more often, gives them a logical twist or explanation.
About the only thing one can complain about is that it is quite slow paced, and the heroine is constantly in self denial, together with the fact that it is somewhat hard to believe that a thirty year old woman would behave like she does sometimes.
But it is repeatedly explained why she is like that, even if it may strain somewhat the suspension of disbelief, and eventually she gets over her denial.
And while the drama can sometimes be a bit hard to swallow, it still is leagues above 99% of all other novels and easier to believe.
If you don't have patience for a slow romance, with a heroine that is constantly doubting herself (and this is something everyone in-story, including herself is aware of) then don't read this.
Instead, if you want to read a slow, but very sweet romance story between an adult couple with a ten year age gap, in which every problem that comes up is resolved step by step, and the main focus is on the path to start dating, and later on what that relationship is like once they do date, absolutely read this.
My rating 10/10, is more about overall enjoyment, because while this is certainly not a master piece and is not for everyone, I have enjoyed just as much as any masterpiece.
