The series takes place in a universe parallel to City Hunter.

A young Taiwanese assassin codenamed "Glass Heart" committed suicide by jumping off a building, and her heart was pierced by a metal fence. Miraculously, her life was saved by heart transplantation. During her recovery she began to experience strange dreams, which led her to Japan looking for the donor of her heart, who happens to be Kaori Makimura, former partner of City Hunter.

Ryo and Kaori forever.

I love city hunter, I like Angel Heart.
The two series are good, each has his own. City Hunter is the comedy for that reason I caught it, and do not stop laughing.
Angel heart has emotions to the surface, feelings of Kaori Ryo, the relationship with his daughter, and continued learning.

This one is written very differently from other modern manga.
The reason might be, that it's a spin-off from an 80's manga. At least it really feals like one of these 80's frankobelgic influenced old school mangas.
Since I am no manga, but a general comic fan I don't mind at all, but "modern manga purists" should be carefull, as this is probably not their style.

From chapter 1 I knew this was going to be my best find of a lifetime. I know that the story goes down hill after Glass heart settles down, but it is still an action manga, and the protagonists are kick-ass. This is the manga that got me into being an otaku, so I am very sentimental towards it. The comedy is the best and even my sister (who thinks she is above manga) calls Ryo the "man with balls of steel" and reads it regularly. The only drawback of this manga is not the art or the story, but the scanlators. I am really understanding when it comes to updates, but 200 days for a chapter is really taking the Michael.

Really good art. Starts off very interesting, but then becomes sort of a troubleshooter type series. Very formulaic unlike the beginning. I thought I was watching some old 80s detective show with a crime or situation to be solved every week. I read about 77 chpts and I wish I hadn't since it really lost its edge.

the first chapter was interesting up till Ryo showed up
swiming around in a pool with only females having a boner
and looking for sex
i mean no matter how good looking you are you that kind of tactic would not work

the problem is all the silly sexjokes that involve Ryo
as soon as he showsup there is going to be a joke about his dick, him pulling down his pants, having a boner,or just sexually harass some woman
its like a horney teenager made this manga and its not funny
it takes away from the serious tone so much that i just cant read it

This manga had an awesome beginning! So awesome that by the time Glass Heart settles down to be City Hunter's daughter, it got really boring. And it didn't just end there, Glass Heart is being encouraged to abandon her killer instincts and live a normal life... LIKE NO! Her being in action was the best part!!

This series, being a perfect sequel of City Hunter and just like CH, it's ridiculously good.
The first part of the story somehow seemed a bit off to me. However by volume 3, the story were back on track, and then it just got better and better.
Definitely a must read, also many thanks to Evil Genius for the releases, please keep it coming. biggrin

well, it a really good manga. even it 's supposed to be an alternative sequel of city hunter i can help but think that it's really what's happening after city hunter.
the drawing are wonderful, and really different from City Hunter. I'm actually reading the france version of it. and we're much further in the serie than in the english translation.
Hold on , guys 'cause it keep getting better and better!!!
