Description

The art is fcking beautiful but the PACING. ACTUAL TRASH PACING IM GIGGLING. Timeskips left and right, lacking character development, plot holes everywhere. Not to mention the Mary sue FL and Gary stu ML. Irritating. FL throws tantrums when things don’t go her way and this manhwa tries to disguise it by portraying her as “badass” (that’s not how badass women act!)

ML is also irritating. He

FAKES BEING DISABLED. He also manipulates everyone around him. He also saw himself as the female lead's saviour and manipulated her into thinking he saved her life when she didn't even ask for it?

Overall, reading this raised my blood pressure and would not recommend unless you have the tolerance of a saint

I absolutely adore this ML---really an uncommon situation among the others I've read.
The plot they had shown with how the ML and FL's relationship have come to is something I really enjoyed as well.

If this were written way better I could see the story as really good. Being scorned and then becoming a duchess - it's nothing new but still fun to read about, and the male lead isn't stereotypical.

But, the execution is pretty lackluster. The female lead is written to be a bit too OP for suddenly becoming the most strongest most powerful person in the kingdom after her father. Also, out of all the ways to depict a strong independent female lead, revenge fics are my least favorite. Instead of being competent and solving more challenging issues with her newfound power she uses her status solely to screw over a guy who's small fry and should now be inconsequential to her and to be mean to people who were mean to her. The male lead, too, is super OP. He would be an interesting character given his backstory, but unfortunately no nuance is explored in this story so he's still rather two-dimensional.

This is also one of those webtoons where emotions are super exaggerated - everything is emotional to the max from people grievously shocked to servants desperately apologizing to the female lead's face scrunched up in pure rage... at one point the female lead grabs her ex by the shirt collar and screams at him - and it's not some important moment or anything just the ex being a jerk per usual and she looks totally unhinged.

All that being said, the plot is the shining point of the story and is still engaging enough for me to read it so I'd compare this to like, junk food that's just good enough to keep eating 'cause you feel like eating something.

The ML is truly unique, like one of a kind. He doesn't get swayed or controlled by feelings like everyone else and really loves his subtle schemes, but at the same time he is not a bad person and you can tell he cares about her.

I love this manhwa. It has strong female lead that can use magic and is good at sword fighting, I like the nice make lead, art and characters are beautiful and the plot is interesting. It is definitely in my top fav manhwa.

At first, people liked him because he was very kind but after it turned out that he was lying about his disability, a lot of people dropped this series.. but I’m telling you to please stick to the story for just a while longer! like literally right after the reveal, we get to know the ML and why he did the things he did. Honestly his reasoning is like 100% justifiable in my opinion since it was for his survival. He literally had no other choice or else he would most probably get killed. You shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, since at around chapter 20 the ML is actually pretty sweet to the FL and I love their banter!

I also love how the ML is portrayed as the ‘Cinderella’ and how the FL is actually the prince saving him. It was soo cute when she proposed to him and when she carried him (bridal-style) down a hill. FL is so badass :>

Scalation quality is shocking fro ch. 11 and the characters take a nosedive in ch. 10-11, so just pretend it all works out and move on to better things.

We go from kind, disabled MC to manipulate cunt MC out of nowhere.. Such a shame.

It's a shame because the set up was done quite well and had it's own little spins on things..
