Description

Meet Noel, a part-time worker at a pet store who’s completely and utterly obsessed with puppies. Noel loves puppies so much that he decides to join a chat app to find a friend who likes them as much as he does. Just his luck, he manages to find "J," a user that seems to match Noel’s passion for cuddly creatures. After Noel decides to send J a collar as a gift, J suggests they meet in person. Forgettable but cute

A rather forgettable smut if you don't like this kind of fluff like me. It's cute. Don't get me wrong. I read it a few months ago, it's still in my mind due to the rather unique color palettes and soft art style contrasting with hulking big men. There's just not much substance to it really. The characters are cute but the journey of emotions we're taking on is incoherent and almost reads like something middleschoolers would read, don't waste your time with this really. While I appreciate the cuteness and fluff always, dubcon and a lackluster story really leave this with no real benefits beyond mindless smut.

Thoughts? More like prayers, for the terrifying amount of bad BL out there.

i think this one ended up pretty decent. the art style is not my absolute favorite, i don't normally go for this kind of style and to be honest jace's skin tone is so painfully ashy. jace and noel have a cute enough dynamic i suppose; however, i did like the side couple and their dynamic a lot, probably more than the main one.

in regards to the smut:

it's hot at times. there definitely are some waits and stops, i don't think it crosses into dubious consent territory most of the time but it does show their bedroom communication is awful. there isn't lube used and they don't prep for very long, if at all, so that is a turn off. and the lightsabers have a pretty egregious aura to them. i also do not like the trope of "one party is insatiable and wants to keep going several rounds after the scene fades away even though the other party is saying wait or complaining", which is in effect here with jace and noel. the side couple's sexual dynamic is excellent, they could do with slightly more communication but i just love a good dom bottom x sub top dynamic!! there just wasn't enough of them 😭

so in general it's fine. the plot isn't too much, it's definitely more smut focused. it's definitely not a 10 but it's not bad. probably won't reread it though, unless it's just for the side couple's scenes.

I was hoping for a good story, but as usual in bl, I was disappointed, honestly...nothing special, no decent plot, only chaotic events later, in general, just an another series about puppy, cute seme and asshole, slutty uke, who goes and fucks other guys, because he's so traumatized, well....they look good together, of course, but the way he treats Noel (seme)... it's not okay
I don't recommend if you're looking for a well thought out story, not only hot characters and scenes (as most do lately, unfortunately)

For a series supposedly based on bdsm and collars, IT ISNT.
The main love interest wears a collar like, twice? He expresses he's worried that no one will ever accept his kink but most of the time in this series he's just having normal sex with the Mc.
He even starts off wanting Mc to be Dom but by the end they're basically just a vanilla couple.

The secondary couple was also only shown twice and it's really odd they were included at all.

At one point even though secondary Li and primary Li had never met or seen each other before, secondary somehow alerted the Mc to primary's location??

The chapters are also all very disconnected with each other.

Overall this series was a huge mess.
