From Aerandria Scans:

Suzuhara Mugi is a fifteen-year-old on a mission. She is determined to somehow get onto the campus of Shoukei High School, one of those super super elite high schools. This school is huge and private and has tight security. Mugi is searching for her missing sister--her only remaining family--and she has been led to believe that someone or something on the campus of that school will help her in her search.

Unfortunately, that strict school security is preventing her from getting onto the school grounds. However, her luck changes when she literally runs into Midou-kun, the son of an insanely rich mega-corporation president, and elite person at the school.

Midou is not impressed with Mugiís sob story about needing to get into the school. He is a very smug and arrogant rich guy. But he can be reasonable, and he eventually strikes up a deal with Mugi--he will get her onto the school grounds in exchange for some labor on her part. She must come to his house and work as a maid! Yeah, this is one of those servant girl stories, but there are a few interesting twists, namely the unexpected way Midou gets Mugi into the school.

Having finished all 6 volumes, I have to say this is a good read and recommended if you're a softie for bishounens as there are a lot of them in this book. It's not hard trying to guess who she'll end up with, as it gets jucier towards the end. biggrin

At first, this manga seemed boring, but as I continued to read, it became more and more interesting. Recommended for all. ^^

I like this story...At first I thought it was like "Fruits Basket", but the girl seems smarter than Tohru, though at times she can have her blond moments. Give it a chance, and I'm sure you will like it

I really love the twist but I guess part of it is because I was so looking forward to it. Yeah, after awhile it seems cliche. The girl is even an idiot. It reminds me a lot of Fruits Basket.
I still like it.

I started to read this, but for some reason stopped. It was good enough for me to remember it and pick it back up when I had the opportunity, but, as with many things, the second read through highlighted many of the problems with this series.
For a start it is totally unrealistic that Mugi should have to substitute for the art teacher to get into the school. I'm sure Midou had more than enough money and power to get her into the school no-questions-asked.
The idea of the missing sister and the mystery it entailed was a nice one, but the author spent too much time on typical shoujo problems. Her sister seemed to be just a plot device to get the protagonist into the situation in the first place and after that didn't fullfil much of a role. It would've been nice to see more mystery in this.
The protagonist, while being a "strong" girl at least doesn't hit the guys every time something goes wrong which is a strong point for this. The guys, typically, all fell for the heroine, although they did at least have different personalities.
The mystery was solved right at the end and was rushed. To say that it was "rushed" in the usual sense doesn't apply though; the author undoubtedly would've just kept throwing out cliched shoujo situations instead of spending more time on the mystery.
I gave this series a low score because it sold itself as a mystery shoujo, not just a common shoujo, but forgot about that less than half-way through. Points for the artwork which I found nice, but other than that this is a typical shoujo story that tries to over-step its boundaries but gives up half-way.

Fruit Basket with a twist?!

I have to admit this one does resemble fruits basket a lot but there are a lot of differences too. The heroines for one are quite similar except i think Tohru sometimes was too nice, while this one just cannot seem to stop herself from helping others. What has me most intrigued is the mistery of it all, i already have some characters which i can tell will or have played a big role on the death and disappearance of the girls family....but am sure we will not find out until to the very end what exactly happened. Another big difference is that instead of two guys wanting the heroine's attention is four, because one way or another although two are in the lead now the other two seem to have developed feelings as well....I wonder how long this one will be, i hope not as long as fruits basket though.

Well, i don't know if it's because i'm older or the later volumes got worst; but the heroine got on my nerves when i picked up where i had left off. The story ended with a ridiculous plot that made little sense, and the romance fizzled out, to the point i didn't care for any of the characters.

It's reverse harem, and it's based on a game, but it's okay. It's not the most exciting read ever, but the boys are pretty typical, aside from Kazuya's seriously dark side. There's something nice about things going exactly the way you think they should... and there's something annoying in that there were very few surprises. Overall, it was fine. Lots of bishonen fighting over a plucky girl, a mystery that's not that mysterious once you hit the middle, and a feeling that things are being resolved too quickly, but somehow not caring since it feels like the mystery was more premise than plot. Very middle of the road. Read much better; read MUCH worse.

Well in the beginning the manga has a promising start. Well things get out of hand when the love conflicts form and the mangaka seems to be dragging this manga. The plot stays in one place because the characters knew who was involved but they look for evidence and they realize who is involved..which is the same group of people. The plot is revolving around the same thing over and over again. Also the female character is very weak who needs constant protection from one of the four boys and it get annoying.

This manga keeps testing the suspension of disbelief limits....

"But this isn't scifi!"

Apparently it doesn't have to be.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
The way she gets into the school is by becoming a teacher... not a student. That should normally be interesting, but here it's completely uncalled for. Quite frankly, the main character is so unsuitable to be a teacher that it's kind of annoying that the author wants to even bother trying to keep going with this crap. If she was half as intelligent as she is generically hardworking, it would maybe be possible, but quite frankly they just take the focus off the classroom for long periods of time to make you forget about it. The only thing that's keeping her in her teaching position is the random generic rich bisho that put her there in the first place. Whenever the author comes around to an evaluation (of Mugi's teaching abilities), she just magically passes it using some random mumbo jumbo (boy I wish that mumbo jumbo was on my side, I wouldn't even have to be in college right now...) and a little help from richman.

It's just too unrealistic. I can't treat this as anything but wild fantasy just because of the teacher thing. Even with a rich guy backing you, you don't become an art teacher at a prestigious high school (not to mention without any formidable intelligence working for you) and succeed. That's just testing the suspension of disbelief limits too much. The fact that the author tries to focus on that aspect of it as little as possible just proves that it's something that the author doesn't really want to deal with seriously, even though it's the only thing tying the main character to her goal (ie it's her means).

That just pretty much makes the overarching plot laughable.

... Which isn't anything new for shoujos. The only problem is that this manga really doesn't have anything to add to the shoujo formula. It's generic as heck. You have your bishos, you have your generic romance, you have your reverse harem, etc. There's also roughly no real character development. The main character's personality is almost completely static. The rich bishos really don't change that much either...

There's really just not much to recommend this thing for. It's easy to see why it's already done in Japan... at least they have some sense. >_>;

Had High Expectations...

When I first read the description. I thought it'd be an interesting story with a dark plot to it... In the end, it got butchered and the story is just a whole bunch of unbelievable nonsense. It was quite disappointing. I had expected more drama build up because of the disappearance of her sister as well as the death of her parents (which I believe was not a suicide, but an intentional murder.)
