Description
Roots of A is essentially a short manga featuring Akiyama during his senior year of college. In it, Akiyama and four of his classmates are taking a criminal psychology course and given an assignment where they must construct a profile of a person based on a letter they sent. This outcome of the assignment, plus what the professor says afterwards, is what prompts Akiyama to enter grad-school and continue to study psychology.

As the previous reviewer said only the first chapter is on Akiyama in the volume, but the other ones aren't bad either (but they aren't amazing either). There's also another chapter that was released after this volume came out about Akiyama and I think that one is referred to as Roots of A as well.
It's really nice to get a bit more insight into how Akiyama's head works, and we get to know his professor who seems to have been the biggest influence on Akiyama. Overall, it's really well done (but far too short T_T), and we get to see a young Akiyama xD Kaitani Shinobu's art here as really improved and that's a major plus. Read this if you're an LG fan. It'll probably make sense to you even if you aren't a LG fan, but it's a far better read if you are able to compare the current Akiyama with the idealistic young Akiyama.

So far so good.

I've read up to chapter 8, and so far it all looks good. Only 1 chapter on Akiyama though, it's more like a series of unrelated one-shots.
Art style is the same as Liar game, and the short stories are different to the liar game layout, but are pretty interesting.
