Good Ghost Mystery Romance
Rating: 8.5 / 10.0

A nice romance with an intriguing mystery. The art is really well done in this manga, really it's one of the strongest points that it has. The story has a nice sense of pacing, and I get the feeling that the artist had a definite ending in mind when he started. Things start out lighthearted but also get appropriately dark when it needs to, especially near the end when you find out more about Yuuko's past. A little something seems to be missing for me when it comes to the characters, a few of the side characters kind of have a habit of disappearing from the story for one. Teiichi also, while not a bad character, is pretty bland a lot of the time.

Not much bad to say, an interesting story with great art and a good ending. It also has a nice length, at 45 chapters it doesn't feel like it stays around too long. Would recommend.

I still think that Yuuko should have moved on and stayed moved on. I just feel that Teiichi should have ended up with Kirie, since she was alive and stuff. Yuuko telling him to move on with his life would have just felt a little more satisfying, even if it wouldn't be as happy.

Immensely cute romance story with no contrived additional love interests. It only focuses on two characters' interest in each other. It's not solely romance but also suspense. Yuuko is one of the most charming female leads in manga, and I have to hand it to Maybe (who comes from a Hentai background) to create such a captivating manga. Asides from the fluff he actually makes some interesting school ghost stories for the cast to investigate.

While the romance is cute, I frankly didn't find the story particularly interesting. Basically, I wish it had been more horror/mystery and less shounen romance with pointless incredibly frequent ecchi parts and an utterly glacial pace. And the female lead spends way too much of her screen time obsessing over the male lead...

Finally,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Yuuko may have forgiven her murderer, but said murderer still should have gone to prison, and ought to have confessed. Standard shounen plot: Police and legal system don't exist...

That said, the ultimate end is still really cute. But it would have been far stronger if the story hadn't been 10 volumes long, including tons of omake chapters.

Great Combination of Romance and Mystery.

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia is an amazing manga, in terms of both the art and the story. It started off well. It had 'arcs' and all the arcs were then excellently concluded in the late story. I wouldn't agree with anyone saying it doesn't have a point; it does have. It may not apparent at first but if you are patient enough--actually don't have to be that patient--you will see it soon.

The story is not too random, nor is it too serious for readers who like Ecchi's. I should mention that the romance part is well blended with the theme of the story as well. Overall this manga has a decent idea.

The images are also well drawn and beautified. It may not be supreme but still much above average.I'm quite sure many young males will be satisfied with them.

One thing that bothers me about it, while many readers will like it, is Fan Service scenes which sometimes come at a wrong time, or just don't suit the moment. Another thing which annoys me is the epilogues: the series is perfectly beautifully ended; it doesn't need anything extra after that. If it's just a short spin-off or an Omake I will not be this annoyed, seriously...

The story is truly amazing but the artwork even more so. You can read it purely for the sake of its art. Marvelous. The very concept and development of the story is new and refreshing but a bit cheesy at times. Definitely a good read. Eagerly awaiting the author's next serialization.

I thought this would be a dragged out romance story, but it's actually very well paced. The mystery/horror elements give the story a unique vibe and the characters (esp. Yuuko) are much more interesting than I expected them to be after the first chapters.

It's a great story that actually manages to maintain its quality even until the end.

this is no horror story

...until the very last chapters, this is more akin to a magical girlfriend than ghost/horror story, with the way the female lead was portrayed. The plot is decent: logical with a male lead that can actually think and do according to his own wishes. Regetably, apart from the main couple the other characters aint that memorable.

The art is simply great. It must be mentioned that this the mangaka also does hentai manga(s), and believe it or not most hentai mangakas are better than mainstream ones when it comes to portraying sexy female human body.

edit: if you are impatient type, look for the anime. It was quite faithful to the original manga.

I have NEVER liked ecchi manga because of that point you mentioned. The male protagonists are always insignificant, incompetent, lame and really useless. In other word, they are a pain in the ass. And despite all that, he has a bunch of beautiful girls chasing after him. I HATE that part so much that I can't standing reading the manga with that plot.
However, this manga is an exception. Teiichi-kun is totally not like those useless and hateful guys. He is calm and collective and brave and logical when it comes to scary situation, where other guys would be peeing their pants and run away instead. To add to that, he is very kind, manly and cool also. Most importantly, he is not a pervert. I really like his appearance design, except for the part that he is not very tall ^^.
The girl is interesting and cheerful. She is a very likable and sincere girl. That shows very clearly in the recent chapters (30, 31, 32).
The story is fresh and it has a mysterious atmosphere that really draws you in and still refreshing and purely romantic at the same time.
Anyway, I recommend this manga. It's the recommendation of an ecchi manga from an ecchi manga hater like me so you can trust me that you will like it. So go ahead and give it a try ^∀^
