Description
A nameless high school dropout teenager turns into an assassin for hire. He is a complete loner who uses his knife to kill his targets without any emotion or hesitation. He kills anyone who gets in his way whether they be a complete stranger or even the client that hired him in the first place. He meets a man named Iwanishi after one of his jobs goes bad. Iwanishi nicknames him Semi (Cicada) because he apparently talks too much and offers to become his manager, handling the business side of assassination. But it seems like Iwanishi has some secret agenda Semi isn’t aware of.

There are a few things I hate in fiction. Revenge driven characters and plot, characters with inconsistent personalities and motivations, and inconsistent world building. This manga has a subset of inconsistent characterization. Characters who are the "Greatest ------- ever." Except not really. You know the type. Characters writers create that are the best at (insert action) but they don't do things that people who are good at (insert action) would do? The most common example- Women who are "skilled fighters" but need the male love interest to rescue her.
This character's an assassin, the most unskilled one. He's written that way purposefully, but it still irritated me. This assassin is not stealthy, dresses in flashy clothing, kills people who are not his target, can't read the atmosphere or plan ahead. He's only good at killing, which makes him just another mass murderer. I know he's written that way on purpose because he gets a cheeky mentor that tries to teach him common sense and the thin line between assassins and mass murderers. But he isn't having any of it. So naturally he gets his ass handed to him by real assassins. This is where the story and I disconnect. I get the impression that we're supposed to feel sorry for him at this point, but I feel that he deserves it and I'm happy it happened. There are no more translated chapters to determine if he learned his lesson after this, so the readability of this story is up for debate.

It's a story full with gore and blood and flesh being ripped/cut off. If its not your thing you might not want to try it. Its not my thing. But I actually liked it surprisingly. The plot and characters are very original and interesting. The main lead is cruel yet you still kind of resonate with him and pity him. It had a few plot twists that really surprised me too. Only a few chapters out now (7) and hopefully by the next time I remember this they will have most if not all the chapters scanslated. Im really interested in what happens next. Thank you for scanlating this. Its a very refreshing read.
