Description
It's the start of high school, and Kako decides to "produce" her bookworm of a childhood friend, Kousei, so that he can become a good-looking and popular school idol. She models him after Lawrence, a character in a manga she likes, but as Kousei's transformation becomes a huge success and he extends his new character beyond what she asks for, what will Kako do? Will she find herself left behind in the wake of his newly found popularity?

Average, mediocre shoujo with nice art.

There was nothing that outstanding so I'll cut to the chase.

Characters ★★
Seeing how I don't even remember their names show how forgettable they are. Welcome your typical hero and heroine. The heroine is the typical 'I-wear-glasses-but-I'm-actually-pretty' girl and of course, once she takes those glasses off, every guy is mesmerised. The male lead is so dull. He's only good-looking, occasionally teases the girl and in the end, he freaking pressurises her. Nothing special.

Story ★★★
Average. Average. Average. Nothing unexpected happens. The same old plot devices. Nothing that hasn't been done yet. I'm not saying that a story has to be really original to be good. Old or popular ideas can be used but it's the way the mangaka brings it out to make it or break it.

Art ★★★★
Really depends on preference but I found the art to be cute and fluffy. I'm not gonna lie. It was the art that made be read the manga.

Read it if you have nothing else to read. Or else read a manga that's award-winning even though the art puts you off.

Shoot Me

I actually have no idea why I even read 5 chapters. Sure, it's sweet that Kousei is totally loyal to Kaako, and the art is quite beautiful, but the story is horrendous.

Basically, Kaako gets offended when she and Kousei move to the big city, and in retaliation, goes to prove that Kousei is not a "country bumpkin" (even though he's totally adorable and it really does not matter whether he's some kind of extremely romanticized knight or himself). Kaako creates all sorts of trouble by introducing Kousei's hotness to the masses, and eventually the fashion world (and that's as far as I got).

I think the only reason I even read 5 chapters is because I wanted to see Kaako without her glasses and pigtails, because she's really beautiful without. Kousei keeps her appearance to himself and only reveals it when it's convenient.

Basically, it's a manga about how outer appearances matter, and you're pretty much just reading a girl call a perfectly fine guy "selfish". It gets a three out of ten for the art and for "Lawrence and Rose", which I would totally read if it was a real manga and Lawrence wasn't disgusting.

Even it's too early to commented on because only 1 chapter been released I can't help it because it too hot wink
Same goes with the cover that blown you away at the moment you see this manga.
We always always read manga with typical shoujo manga right? With the girl wearing thick spec, lame hair style. Yeah, you can see it here.
But, the main point is the boy. Producing totally new hot boy and it's soo cute, their relationship.
"I won't ever produce you huh?" well said, bishie~! xD

Surely, grab this manga quickly embarrassed
make it popular xD

I initially wanted to rate this series lower but as many others I have to admit the art is gorgeous.
Sadly, that's it. It also is what lured me in...I guess I need to stop being so shallow to read things just by cover.

I have to say... I have only fully read first 5 chapters. Every page I kept hoping the heroine would finally wake up and stopped being so awfully dumb and shallow. And stopped doing all those horrible things to him. Every page I suffered from that not happening. I thought I saw a ray of hope in fourth chapter since it seemed like she finally realized she doesn't want to lose him.....only to see her shortly after act awfully once again. And again. And again.
After the first 5 chapters I have skimmed through the rest and read the ending. I...can't really cover just how glad I was I didn't waste time on reading any more of it. There really is no depth to the story whatsover.

Not bad.

Looking at the other glowing reviews I feel like I'm missing something. I really wasn't overly impressed with this. It's not bad by any means, but not THAT good.

The art is gorgeous, I'd say that's definitely the best part imo. The characters are likable too. The female lead isn't a crybaby and is strong, albeit also dense and slightly delusional (in a very funny way of course). I like the male lead too, though I his character changes constantly so I can never quit pin down what he is all about. But It's the story line that gets me. Though maybe I'm biased because I was expecting more "producing"...I mean he's pretty much produced in the first 5 or so pages and from there he just gets more and more popular with no actual changes happening. After that it's just SO repetitive. To me the first volume sort of read like a series of different versions of the same oneshot. More of a storyline does develop, but it's still fairly repetitive and cliche. That being said, the romance is cute.

I'd say if you're an avid lover of shoujo (especially bishie oriented) or if you are just bored and want to pass the time read it. But if you're looking for something really great, keep moving.

The Art is hot! Story is progessing well

The art is wonderful. Hot bishounen!! The pace of the story is pretty good. The female protagonist is somewhat a clueless girl but isn't a total push over and she's learning along the way. The male protagonist.-If you're into that overprotective totally in love with you type. Totally makes your heart flutter. This is so your manga. I am dying waiting for the latest chapters! This series is like the reverse of Skip Beat! Yagami Kousei (male protagonist) stays true to his roots and best friend Kahara Kako (female protagonist).

Stunning Art

Only two chapters have been released so far - but one thing I must say is that the art is absolutely stunning. Maybe even the best I've seen out of ALL the manga I've read. And that's a whole lot >.>

I can't really judge the plot so far, but it seems pretty typically shoujo (: The bishies are completely drool-worthy. I'd say one of the cutest moments is when the main character says "I'll never produce you".

Can't wait for the main heroine to go through her transformation - and have all the boys swooning for her <3 I didn't even recognize her with her hair down xD

Awesome Heroine, but not so awesome Hero

I don't understand about all the other comments. How in the world is this heroine dumb? Sure she is awkward and messes up. Who doesn't? At least she isn't like that girl who is always whiny when her boyfriend is talking to another girl (*cough* Tsubaki Hibino *cough*). No. I actually like her. She sticks up for her friend. She always cheers for him. She realizes that she made a mistake.

I think it's the guy who is annoying. He might be a bishie, but he is so needy and whiny. He's so selfish that he doesn't let the heroine do what she wants to do all because he doesn't want anyone else to touch her. He gets easily hurt and is just a complete jerk. Seriously? I prefer the other males rather than him.

Besides that, the art was pretty and story was nice. I recommend it as a light read.

So ridiculous, man. Since this is a shoujo manga, I wanted it to be girl centric. But no, they wait until the last volume to give the protag her spotlight and even then, they have her return to her plain old self in the end. She's called "Plain Girl" as though it is her name. Argh. I disliked it immensely.
