This story in essence is such an epitome of promiscuity and convoluted melodrama, but it doesn't really feel like it because of the author's light-hearted and comedic approach to it. I must say I certainly was relatively entertained, even if I couldn't agree with what was going on at all. The ensemble cast is definitely the star of the show and the glue to whatever story this was. All in all, a fun, silly, not-very-serious read.

Disapointing

I don't really get why this one got so many good reviews. I don't have anything against love polygons, cheating, confused fellings and such, but I need to feel at least a little bit for the characters. They seemed to me all shallow, like there're no real emotions involved and just like teenagers that doesn't know a thing about love (even Asahina). Maybe there's only Kagami that kept me interested in his character all along, it's the only one that I felt had real feelings, even though he hides them far away in his heart. I would have been more into it if sensei showed us more about their hesitations and confusions, giving me more to understand why they act the way they act. Because without that, it just felt shallow.
Well, besides that it's a light read that kept me from getting bored. So if you want something to pass the time, you could give this a try.

for BL. which means people do not fall in love and go through the requisite single crisis only to live happily ever after. instead they are confused, change their minds, make mistakes, and there's not always a happy ending -- though takaido tried her best to make happy endings, or at least allusions to those for most. i really enjoyed this one from start to finish, with all its complex emotions. usually love triangles are so cliched that i am tired of them, but here the love polygon didn't bother me at all. furthermore the pairings didn't come out as i would have liked them (i also have a bit too much of a desire for happy endings in BL), but it doesn't really matter as far as the quality of the story goes; it's one of the best i've ever read.

the characters felt very real to me, and by the end i was sad that i won't read anything about them anymore. maybe with the exception of asahina; i didn't quite grok the attraction he held for so many people. there were times when i thought he was the least mature of the lot.

more than one person cheats here; if that sort of thing bothers you and you're looking for a more formulaic BL story, stay away. if, however, you want to read something more realistic even if it's not always pretty, if you like mangaka like [m]miyamoto kano[/m], then give this a try.

the manga doesn't get top marks from me because of the art. takaido's art has grown on me over the years, but it still doesn't bowl me over, and it's not always expressive enough for me to fill in the gaps between the words. interestingly enough, it works great during the sex scenes. they're not graphic, but very erotic nonetheless.

Not excellent but not bad at all...

Like everybody told before it is a triangle, quadrangle thing going but... there is some very interesting developments that don't let the story become boring. The only thing I really didn't like so much is the art. It is simple and clean but too simple for my taste. It is a good light reading.

Yup, if you love triangle, students, and a sensei are your type, this is for you. If you like light read...some humors in the side, yup again, this is fun to read also.

Not that I am that avid fan of love triangles but the atmosphere is light. I like Kagami. He's kinda cool and funny at times.

This series is an enjoyable read for me, I like it so much that I purchased my own copy and have read it over and over again. This series is humorous and realistic; for those who like a bit of angst (love triangles..emotional issue) this is the perfect read. I'm so glad that I got to read this series and I hope more people will enjoy it too.

Prince Charming is not for everyone. If love triangles (or quadrangles in this case) annoy you, you're not going to make it through three volumes worth of confusing feelings. The main protagonist is Asahina-sensei, an english teacher who is targeted by his student Yuasa-kun. What follows is the development of their relationship and the inevitable intertwining of Yuasa-kun's friends' feelings in the mix.
Takaido-sensei's artwork is cute and her story is interesting and slow-paced. The main characters of Prince Charming are all likable (before the frustration over their situation starts to change your mind.)
In the end, this series could have suffered because of the frustrating love-theme but it manages to hold onto your attention all the way to end. Pretty good, but not great. Read it for the artwork and the character development.

Spoiler (highlight to view)
I read up to vol. 2. If you're into love triangle where everyone is into everyone else and nobody knows what they want this is perfect. There's a lot of cheating, uncertainty and jealousy. I felt bad Asahina the most. He got dragged into the whole thing and doesn't even get a stable relationship. Instead, he get Yuasa who doesn't seem to know what he wants and cheats on him. I hope Asahina works out the attraction and sleeps with the other guy in the next volume.
