because they really spoil the stories. this is a josei-ish manga that rely heavily on the expression of emotions. beautifully illustrated, and evenly paced, these short stories are little nugget of gems.

Like a collection of indie movies...

I kept putting this collection of one-shots away for fear of tragedy or something being really deep -- leading me to cry and end up with puffy eyes the next day. But having finished it, I really liked it. It takes you through many different emotions / situations / personalities. For some reason, I really liked "The Rainbow Fish" and "A Strange Gene"... Great story-telling... *thumbs up.

This is one of the best female-perspective short story anthologies ever published. Souryo has already established her talent for depicting human emotion with a level of realism most manga artists can only dream of, and it's shown here as much as ever, but in these stories she also reveals a depth of thought usually reserved for literary writing. Literary writers can't draw, though, and Souryo's talent there is nothing short of intimidating. Her status as one of the best female mangaka on the field has never been more evident than it is in this volume.

A quick oneshot with some interesting short stories. Wasn't like WOW like her other works but still, I liked it. This one is kinda recent so her artwork is really pretty here. Her story-telling skills are also amazing. I loved the twist at the end of that last story.

That was one of the best collection of oneshots I've ever read...
It was just simply amazing...

Souryo Fuyumi really knows how to write about a person's soul....
So thought provoking, and quite tragic.
Made me sad, but in a good way, and not only that... It brought all sorts of emotions...

Art is beautifull as ever.

This is an amazing set of oneshots. Souryo has a deep understanding of how human emotions work, how the mind works- her stories are extremly realistic and amazing in how they really get into the human mind. Her artwork is clean but beautiful. This was a very interesting look at different aspects of life and living. Souryo is clearly an amazing mangaka to make oneshots into something so powerful.

the first story didnt have a particular plotline, just showed her stages in life and her thoughts, but it was still kinda captivating.

the second story i really wanted to cry but i couldnt. and i loved it, and now i'm really sad after reading it.

the third story is quite simple but still interesting.

the fourth story is... puzzling. i cant decide whether it confuses the hell outta me, or if its complex and interesting. probably the second one =] i might have to read it a couple more times to really understand it though.

Short stories are not often as interesting as long series, but Fuyumi Souryo is definitly not your average shoujo mangaka. As usual she's able to make short stories, well paced, well drawn and psychologically interesting.
Of all the shoujo mangaka I read, she's one of the few that can trully appeal to both guys and girls. Though this one is categorized as a shoujo, It would be more accurate to say this one's a seinen.
