From Easy Going Scans:

Legna, one of the last members of a dying-out clan of dream-seers known as 'Oracles', serves as a courtier of the childlike and (apparently) well-loved king of his country.

One night, he has a prophetic dream of impending danger towards His Majesty - but is unable to discern the source of the threat. Determined to protect the young royal, Legna then begins an investigation which takes him deep into the realm where dreams and political conspiracies intertwine...

Good, but quite confusing

It was really confusing in the beginning, with me trying to recognise each and every of their faces and names, but somehow I did it! It was really slow in the 1st volume, but things started to pick up in the 2nd. Still, things are very confusing. This manga kind of reminds me of Sennen Meikyuu to Nana Ouji, and Bokura no Kiseki. Josei lovers should really read it!

Rated it higher than normal (I usually just rate 9) because it's different when I compare it to the other manga I've read.. I felt like stopping at first but the art style is very appealing, I felt compelled to read on. Not just the pacing but the setting is different. I felt confused in the beginning but the lives of the characters piques my interest. I look forward to reading more smile

yup. the art is simply pretty. so, if you love pretty things, pick it up <lol>

but there is more to it than just art. the story is philosophical. at least, that's how I view things. and I personally think all her (aki) works are philosophical to some extent.

As expected of an Aki series. I thought it was good and interesting at first, but after reading the second volume, it's a lot better than I thought. And I don't even want to talk about how good the third volume was. This entire series is just a bucket of sobbing and analysises for reader. If you truly understood the plot after reading volume 3, you will be sobbing [or at least feel sorry if you're a cold-hearted person].

Aruosumente starts off slowly, but it builds on and gets to be more complex as it goes on. The first volume, like most Aki manga, builds the foundation for the rest of the series. So far, the story is well executed and throws a plethora of hints around for the reader [they're extremely subtle so watch out]. Pay close attention to Lante and Dante [particularly their relationships]. Lante is a far more complex character than most would think!! Another hint I'd give you is pay attention to dialogues and the way the characters characterize each other. Like all Aki stories, Aruosumente is very complex, so don't read it simplistically! There is no such thing as over thinking for Aruosumente! [Put on your literature class thinking caps people.] But remember: The characters and their pasts are what drive the present.

My favorite part about Aruosumente is Dante and Lante. Their relationship and past are among the most unique I've ever seen.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Dante and Lante are kids that Richter, Kian, and the previous king [Alshan's dad] picked up. Dante proved to be a magnificent fighter whereas Lante was useless besides making everyone happy and helping out with chores. Since they're under Richter's care in the army, Dante proved useful because of his skills whereas Lante is utterly useless. But in a turn of events, Kian decided to use Dante and Lante, just those two, to fend off an army of 300 enemies. Kian set it up so that Lante would be placed in danger and Dante would have to save him from the enemy troops, since Dante always comes to Lante's help. Kian's plan was that the twins would lose and die, acting as literally human shields for the army as an easy way to get rid of them. But, it failed because Dante managed to kill all 300 men, driving himself insane in the process. As a result, he would go berserk under various circumstances and Lante is the only one who could stop him. However, they can't dispose of Dante because he is a source of protection for the country; no one dares to attack them as long as there's Dante, in fear of Dante's power. Therefore, the twins, who were to be killed, now cannot be killed. In particular, Lante who was useless became useful but in a sense useless too; he is only needed because the country needed Dante, but when Dante goes crazy, Lante can stop him.
Backstories such as that drive the story in the present time. Legna's relationship with his father and Moeran's past are also quite interesting.

If you're rating this manga low because you don't understand it, please rethink your choices. I understand that it's hard to get since things aren't as obvious and action-packed like most manga, but Aruosumente is truly a work of literature.
And Legna's name is spelled "Legna!" In the volume 1 omake, Legna's name is printed in English as Legna. That's because Legna is Angel spelled backwards! uwu

It may have started a little slow, but because it held some intrigue I kept reading. I starts picking up around chapter 5 and 6. It still may be a little slow paced for some people but it has an interesting premise that hasn't been done before (and I imagine it will slowly pick up the pace as the story goes on). So, I will be sticking with it for the time being smile
