A curious, cute, heartfelt little shopkeeper manga. I have some problems with it, though!

To summarize a somewhat lengthy review I wrote on this series, I think it's cute, nostalgic, and has a lot of good to it (particularly emotional good), but there are aspects of it that are just bad. The core of the series is unaffected by what I'd call bad, really, but it's almost distracting how irritating a few thing in this manga are. All in all I liked the manga, but wish it had been a little better thought out in some regards.

I love slice of life stories, and this is a very good one. It was especially interesting for me because it's about a small retail shop, and I grew up in one. In this manga, as in my childhood, such a shop is always a bit weak. It's like a sensitive plant that is not getting quite enough light or rain, and so you always have to struggle at least a little to keep it living.

In this manga the people involved start out in a very marginal situation, but they're emotionally strong, and they keep fighting. They're likable too, and the relationships between them are very interesting. At the heart of the story is a great little girl who's strong beyond her years.
