Description
In the days of war, a baby fused together with a "shadow" called Blue Dragon, a legend among the "shadows". Because of that, he was locked in darkness from birth until recently, 15 years later, to prevent his shadow from activating. From the beginning, the only person he knew was his tutor who would come see him everyday. But "shadows" have begun to run rampant as they escape from "Noir" through living beings. Humans call for the release of Blue Dragon in order to help mankind; thus their journey begins to seal the "shadows" along with the strongest: their queen....

At the time of this review i've completely read this manga.
it was actually pretty good at the start. A simple premise of the guy wanting to save the world cause he loves women's breasts.
he strategizes every battle, indulges in his lewd-ness etc etc
then halfway through it just transforms into a battle after battle with no strategy, going off feels, like the usual shonen trope, nakama wins all, and the dialogue is just utter nonsense.
the ending is rushed and incredibly meaningless.
It's gonna be a hard pass on this one.

the art is great, story is kind of interresting..but after a few chapters it gets somewhat boring...and a bit annoying with the 'woman' parts..it seems to drag on..luckily the arts good..this is a read only to kill some time
As the title says. The art was good, the setup wasn't bad and up until the end of chapter five it was pretty good. After that though it became little more than fight after fight. The last few chapters was one long tedious fight followed by a rush ending. In the end, it was a mindless romp of nudity and fighting.

Perhaps it was the translation, perhaps it was the author's script, perhaps it was the SOMETIMES-messy art. Still, the latter is the best of the three, but art only works by itself if it's hentai.
I can't comment on the end since I'm 50~ pages behind, but after volume 2, I lost interest and didn't really pay attention to anything. It's dull and the story is hard to follow.

This could of been a lot more. The last 3-4 chapters seemed bulled rushed, like the mangaka was utterly forced to end the manga and didn't have the time to explain anything. The story jumps around and leaves too much unsaid by the end. The story had potential, but was crushed by what I'm guessing is a publisher telling the mangaka to wrap it up.
Aside that, it had very detailed and clean art that was easy to follow and some characters just seemed to be there to fill space.

As to the story, I agree that the shadow stuff was interesting, but there was a lot of inconsistency with that plot-line...nways, the author cvould have developed it more, but just didn't. I thought the ending was sweet tho...that could just be me tho^__^ >:3

When it came out this was ought to be great: Obata's drawing in a boob filled history with taking-over-humans-shadows as enemies...sounds good!
As the thing unfolds, the ideia don't grow, the characters are more of the same, the morals is lamer then the usual and the etchy gets kinda forced ...
Luckily, the art is amazing (especially the dragon, the tiger and the phoenix), some fights are really good and have some inteligence in them and ... well there's not much left to say :x

Average shonen manga the only thing worth mentioning is the art, of coures it's by Obata Takeshi. But everything else in this manga is to put it simply: average and below. +1 Point for the great art, but the rest is just "so-so", if you have anything else to read, read it instead this manga.
I liked the idea of the shadows... art is not too bad. But it's too childish. Luckily enough the mangaka kept it short, so i finished it. Anyway nothing special
This is just a way for someone to try and make money off the Blue Dragon series and it falls far short; the artwork is great, but just from reading two chapters I could tell this series was just another cookie-cutter shounen series that rips off far better series and is just a hollow shell that can only distract someone instead of draw them in
