i gotta say. Doko Demo Doa Scans.. you've really outdone yourselves. You bother with scanlating manga for the public, which is nice, and very generous of you guys.. but in the end, you just cover 50% of every page with a HUGE, OPAQUE and completely in the way logo of your group. I mean, what's the point of even scanlating the manga if the watermark just blots out all your hard work? I know it's hard to keep people from stealing your hard work and claiming it for themselves and calling it their own work, but having at huge logo that covers up the entire manga isn't exactly fair play for the innocent masses.
Not a lot of people are privileged with being able to buy the manga locally, or possess the knowledge of knowing how to read manga raws and interpret them well enough to understand. So, when people find translated scans available online for reading, it overjoys them. Instead, you chose to drown their joy in disappointment since they'll never be able to enjoy the story fully from these ridiculously over-sized watermarks with their solid opacity.
I truly commend you and your group for even picking this story up to translate to everyone else for free, but really, tone down on the watermarks. Even if you don't want to downsize your logo, at the very least, tone down on the opacity. Please.

Doko Demo Doa Scans, If you've read this comment, please, tone down on those over-sized watermarks of yours. This will please everyone of us out there reading your works.

This manga has always been on my wishlist, and I only got to it today. I noticed a problem with watermarks somewhere halfway into the current scans and just got to chapter nine, where it's come to the point in which I can't even see half of the page anymore.

I figured the first few pages would be like that because they don't want anyone to rip off their scans, but then I lost my patience halfway into the chapter.

The last watermark was fine because I could see partially read the text, but this watermark is ridiculous.

Until Doko Demo Doa makes the watermark less obnoxious or another group picks up this manga, I won't be reading it.


That being said, I really do love this manga and am glad I picked it up. It's a shame for me to set it aside again, but in order to preserve my good impression of it, it's the only thing I can do.

But you HAVE to understand that Oiran were not just whores.They are not whores they were entertainers. That means they studied art, music, etc to entertain the clients who could pay(wealthy men) along with sexual services. Oiran were educated women back then and probably being an Oiran was the only way to go if you wanted to influence politics back then. So they are more like 'friends with benefits', and also just read geminigirl's review.

I hope i cleared that up for you. This series is just too good for a shoujo, the girl is not stupid and her love interest is not your typical prince charming. They fight a lot . So far this is amazing for a shoujo and i recommend it.

...it's an amazing series and I don't want to sound ungrateful, because I know scanslations take time and effort. but i don't understand the point of scanslating anything if the group decides to cover half a page of the manga for every single page. It's enough to stop anyone from reading it.

Edit: ...They are still doing the same thing. I think it's really time to drop it. It's such a shame because they translate a lot of other good manga too. I would rather them not do any scanslations at all.

Those are not watermarks. They just stamp a HUGE opaque logo that sometimes covers half a page in every page making it impossible to read.
Which honestly makes all the work they have scanlating futile since I pretty much understand the same % as in raws, with the difference that in the raw scans I can actually see the characters expressions.

Please!!! Somebody!!! Take this manga from Demo Doa!!! Or Demo Doa - stop doing THIS!!! It's impossible to read, it's impossible to see!! What's the point in translation?? It's so f... irritating!!! I understand your point, but it's not the way you do it!!! You're ruining good drawing and good and interesting plot. I'm not dropping this manga. I just don't understand what happened in the last chapters at all!!!!

It's pretty good for a shoujo, I'll give it that. It's like pyrite, imitating a good manga.
The story's okay, nothing special. It's kind of fun but the character development is slow. And yes, like many others, I have to complain about the watermarks.
In some chapters they're 80% of the page!! It's crazy! Some crucial moments are ruined all so that you have "Doko Demo Doa Manga Scanlations" ingrained on your mind. I understand the use of watermarks, and in some chapters they're ok. They're large, but they don't cover up anything too important (background, for example).
I don't understand the need for them to be SO huge and in the way!!

It is a very beautifully drawn manga with a funny,engaging story. I actually like the main character unlike many shoujo's and the power and influence of an oiran in Edo period shouldn't be ignored by readers making them think they were common prostitutes .BUT Doko Demo Doa Manga Scanlations ruined it with their watermarks. They've put their huge marks right on the face of the bishies,I'm actually wondering why they bother to translate it if they want to ruin it ( it's a good thing they aren't the mangaka or rightful owner and they are borrowing the whole thing themselves)

I enjoyed the chapters done by the previous scanlators, but I seriously can't get past the HUGE FRIGGIN' "WATERMARKS" from the current scanlator. They seriously get in the way of my good time. I can't see the characters' expressions, I can't enjoy what I'm reading. I'm going to have to drop this and just find it in raw, because this is RIDICULOUS.

I understand that Doko Demo Doa doesn't want their series to be uploaded to some other websites etc etc, but they could just at least make their water mark to be translucent/semi transparent instead of totally opaque and stamp it a over the character faces. Turning so many people off just because of the lousy watermark. Totally ridiculous. And sometimes the watermarks even got so bad until the quotes were totally blocked off, making the readers unable to read. They should just at least minimum, minimize the size of the watermark instead of making it so big. Totally have no idea what their group is doing.
