The first comic/cartoon (manga) series you MUST let your children read

FYI, this is one of the first few (5, I guess) manga or even comic series published in Vietnam in 1992. It became the phenomenon, and obviously has become the most favorite manga of all time to every child in my country. The series is still reprinted every year.

We never forget our childhood reading this series. We missed all those nice things the series brought to us. Well, my words are not just enough to tell...

In short, if you're adults I hope you can still enjoy the sweet things in this series. And I would really recommend you to let your children read it. This should be the first manga (or even comic) series in your children's lives.

Childhood

Just like other people, this manga was one part of my childhood. After I think about it, so lucky the manga is published completely in my country, and the anime is still being aired even now, make it about... at least more than 15 years, still in the same time slot as I had always watched it more than 10 years ago! The manga is one of the earliest manga I read, and the anime was something I always waited for every week when I was a child. Really, remembering Doraemon always means remembering my childhood.
One thing that struck me is that, when I was a child, I'm jealous for the magical tools Nobita would get from Doraemon. Then now, re-reading it, I still am jealous for Nobita, but, for having someone that always there for him, no matter how bad the side he showed to him :')
I think it's truly recommended manga for children. It teaches you that your doings will always come back to you. Well, at least that's the thing I found happened in many, many chapters. And really, once it went heartwarming, it really was heartwarming, like, in a chapter where Doraemon had to left, but he really is worried about Nobita :'(

My precious

Precious. The only word that can describe the title 'Doraemon' in my heart. Doraemon is probably the very first manga I've read when I was little. The story is about a robot from the future that came to rescue a boy that lives a miserable life, throughout the story the author focused on many valuable lessons, life morals and encouragement, filled with fun and laughter. There is way more to put about this award winning title, but I wish to describe them in one word ; Precious. Doraemon is the title that you'll remember when recalling your childhood. Doraemon is the manga that I'll read every night before sleep.

Many generations have passed, the legacy of Doraemon is still standing tall. Thank you sir Hiroshi Fujimoto. 10/10 no doubt.

It was exactly that.

I spent my childhood watching Doremon, Naruto, Sakura Card Captor... These three were my life back then ha ha ha.

This is the kind of book that you'd enjoy when you were small, you'd learn from it when you grew older, you'd give it to your children when you tried to show them the right way, and probably to your grand children too, despite the difference between generations, some values still treasurable.

You'll never see manga like this again

This series... makes me so nostalgic for the past. There's an air of absolute honesty in this series with the way the author delivers his messages (and they can be very heavy ones too, even in comparison to adult manga). I remember in one of the stories Nobita time travelled into the past when Halley's comet showed itself in Japan, apparently people freaked out because they thought it would take oxygen from the atmosphere. The series often provides a personal look into old school Japan, from wars to mythology and folklore. Nobita's uncle was saved by an elephant that remembered him visiting the zoo, and Nobita saved the elephant from air raids and officials in WW2 Japan. Nobita's dad had to dig trenches as a child at a monastery in preparation of war.

I really can't call this a children's manga, because many adults can learn a lot of things as well. Which one of us has never wished to clone ourselves to work in-place of ourself? To have machine that passes laws automatically? I think people fantasize about things like that all the time, and its interesting how the author shows you the error of such actions

I really miss this series, and it saddens me to think that there won't be anything quite like it in today's manga. Sincere, Powerful and Profound, in such a family friendly format. The humor is also excellent, having meaning behind the comedy which is often failure at using Dora's tools

Sad to see that the series is only translated up to 8 volumes, I could help translate if my mother had not thrown away all my Doraemon comics (which as funny as it is, pisses me off to no end. I had almost all of them)

This is my first comic book i ever lay hand on. The beginning of my phantasy. The characters are loveable, the story is to interesting. Once you pick the first chapter, you will only leave it after you finish the whole series but that is not enough, you will want more. So do i.
