Now, Idk what the other comments that gave a 1 star are saying. The goal of the duke is to raise the "prisoner of war" through a proper life. She is royalty, defeated or not. And they practically were stripping most things away but wanted her to at least grow up healthy for her 18 years and the maid who treated her like trash despite needing to grow properly and treated her/almost abused her without even permission, was of course to be taken to the prison... The wife and the duke were on strange/distant terms and the duke wanted to still let her be comfortable. Especially due to what happened in their past (Thats a big spoiler for about 30 chapters, not saying here.)

Anyway, my actual review is that the story is about the princess of a defeated nation being allowed to avoid execution because she is under the age of 18, thus, she is granted permission to live until 18. Its a story that shows her growth not only as a child, but potentially as a golem master(obvious from her talking to stones and all). It also contains the growth of a duke who has known everything or excels at most things but child raising (well, cause he has no child) and is experiencing, with his wife, how to raise a PoW from her young age to 18. There are ups and downs in the story as well as funny moments, but if you like a heart warming story and like looking at the efforts of a cinnamon roll, experiencing new things she never got a chance to experience in her abusive royal family, then this is the stuff for you (And me!)
