A manga adaptation based on an internet thread in which a girl attempts to reveal her "perfect" classmate's weak point by confessing her love for her - and the development of their relationship from there on out.
7 Chapters (Complete)

not so many serious conflict, but but never stray too much from the main story unlike haru yo koi
I really found myself enjoying the hell out of this, more than I thought I would for sure. I still think that the first chapter is the roughest, there's a ton of words as they set up the plot and I just don't find it natural to read. However power through that and you'll find a relationship that is very sweet and feels much more genuine than 95% of romances portrayed in other manga. If you're put off by the artstyle don't be; while things are a little rough looking at times the writing makes up for it. Very much recommended.
Really, I wasn't sure if there was a TL of the original 2chan threads (I didn't look too hard), but I get the impressions that this manga adapted it beautifully.
As it opens, you're not sure how 'Medley' actually feels towards 'Husky', so you're just embracing the hilariousness of what's going on (though I felt a little, teeny bit bad for Husky, then, as those weren't quite Medley's words. But she did agree to send them). The ridiculousness of the beginning was also oddly realistic, like 'these things happen', probably because it did 😛
What a freaking beautiful ending. And throughout it all you're remembering "This happened. Really happened, Densha Otoko style, just a few years ago. And spread through Japan. As it should."
Of course, you wish that sometime soon, as its been a few years, you get an update from 'Medley', just as you would with other real life stories, but that's not going to happen :/ (edit 5: Medley updates to this day, over 15 years later)
Best to accept and leave the beautiful ending as the beautiful ending it is.
EDIT: Oh, and listen to this, when 'Husky' plays it.
And look up the lyrics. it's a freaking beautiful song. Just think how the Jap savvy must've reacted when it played during 5cm/s T.T
EDIT 2: Holy shit, forget what I just typed! Just read the comment below, second commentor: caozhi. Medley DID come back 😀 \o/
\o\ \o/ /o/
EDIT 3: Well, that link didn't work for me, but looking here helped:
Dynasty forum
(shortcut to Medley's return [discussion is mostly sex related])
EDIT 4:
Looks like a few years ago one of them proposed! They were out to a few friends in the years after high school, and at some point one of them came out to family as well, it was mentioned on her blog.
Edit 5: Some places you can find more info on their story that wasn't in the manga
link one - official Notes page you'll need to MTL like through chatGPT (The original notes page was deleted, as was the twitter, following harassment. Both have returned and old notes are being reposted)
link two - reddit post that collated stuff
link three - twitter
link four - Chinese fans' translation that collects up to 2016
I don't read a lot of yuri because I don't find much I like(because it mostly seems to be written by men, for boys and has little to nothing to do with actual relationships between females). This was very sweet though. I don't know if it is truly real or not, but the story is very genuine and really reminds me of being that age(though my youth contained significantly less text speak haha). I enjoyed it!
This is a lovely manga. The drawings might be mediocre but the story makes up for it big time.
From the innocent beginning of teenage love to the coming of age aspect, it's absolutely adorable.
The romance is just too sweet, you can't help but smile at everything they say and do. The characters are real so their dialog has all the hilarious flare of teenage girls. The best part is obviously that it's a true story which makes it all the sweeter (especially loved how the scans included a pic of the letter Medley writes, it made me go "Woah..." it caught my attention because it pulled me from the realm of manga into the real world). You need to read it otherwise you'll risk feeling the stabbing pains of regret for the rest of your life. After you finish it I suggest checking out the song "Sweetie Sweetie" by Dixie Flatline, it's a really cute dedication to Husky and Medley. If you're interested, the original thread had been archived, it's in Japanese of course.
Medley popped back on 2ch not too long ago. They're both in college and still together.
A portion was translated for us:

Wow, what a sweet read and the emotions were so honest and clear. I also like how the entire relationship progressed. 🙂 Though, I'm a little doubtful as to whether it's real or not as it's the net after all. 😛
