story board was great but......

Nitta sensei works was really good about story of BoysLove and I still can't get enough altho this one volume of Butoukai No Techou seems it was rushed. If you read alot of yaoi story (BL) books you can easily say like this was decided to be End from the beginning while for me there are more character to be more developed. But you can also say this is ONE SHOT story of YAOI and Masashiro being Uke of both brother smoothly goes some up and down.....

Masashiro and Fukaya story of being love to each other shown it was really good except the other third party was left behind without continuation of their relation onto each other. Also it was highlighted on the story of love that still going on after Fukaya was departed on the battlefield on his first time and Masahiro was devoted to see him once again and when he come backs alive they live happily 'til he was sent to battlefield on the second time around. That was my interest got captivated but it was more on from the beginning on the old man picking up the locked on the floor and after seeing it on the last pages that it was Masashiro crying 'cuz Fukaya was dead on that time until his ghost show up to him asking to go home. That was my very happy and the same time sad feeling on the whole story I can say it was really touched my heart 'cuz it was also history and romance boys love hardship from them.

All-in-all it was really great story but it was also rushed to the point you only got enjoyed at the last chapter of this story. Besides you can't do anything from now on this one since this was published on 2006 and many years has passed but you can only say those words that hope Nitta sensei will pick this one again and continue the story from what she left ^__^" I am still hoping that one day she will not stop making YAOI (BL) books for her fans.

Rushed and undeveloped character.

I thought it would be good since many people like it but just cant bring myself to like Masahiro. He has 3 major flaws in his personality:
- he used his body to get his goal (something to be frowned upon)
- he is not so smart to believe the brother loves him. If its true, why would he let him use his body to get his goal.
- The brother is not entirely wrong to say that Masahiro is not faithful when he fell in love with Fukaya after sleeping with him while he is still dating the brother. If the brother is a nice guy, this is cheating.
The story is rather rushed to me to sympathize with him, like how he fell in love with the younger brother and the end is way too fast.

Amusing

^Like the title says, it's amusing.
However it isn't a masterpiece, or entirely trash material.

It had some intriguing themes: war, love, treachery, politics--something 'bout westernization, drama, eternal love... However those ideas needed to be further elaborated on. The whole story was just too compressed and squashed down. It just seemed rushed--especially the end. The end just blazed through countless dilemnas, and went all the way from the meiji era to the showa era in a few pages.

But the beginning and the last few pages were very... endearing.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
At the start, you see Masashiro back at the ruins of the rukumei kan (i think it was called that...) reminiscing. And it all goes back in time to reveal everything that had happened. Yeah, that was some good transitioning. But after that it seemed quite rushed--till the end. That's when Masashiro meets Fukaya and they dance; after enduring all these hardships, as old men. Yup, that's eternal love for you.

So yea. Some may like it more than others. I liked it. But wasn't exactly captivated by it or anything. I'd say romanticists would love it, though.

if you like dramatic stories with an uke sleeping with two guys, you'll love this. it has love, betrayal, war, all wrapped up in one. the ending was so unrealistic, they got together so easily after all they had gone through.

Its nitta Youka's work so of course its going to be good! Its short but mainly focuses on the first part of the whole drama and near the end it doesn't really go into it much although she could have extended it by a couple more volumes, but I guess it has more effect this way. On the whole it was a good read, for me it was good, dramatic oneshot (1 vol is nothing ppl!) and I would highly recommend it to anybody who enjoys drama.
