SUCH GORGEOUS ART AHHHH! I don't understand how anyone could rate it anything lower, because the art alone deserves a 10 by itself. Ugh, the amount of detail and effort put into the clothing, the background, the lighting -- plus the cutesy chibi moments to mix in with the seriousness too. All this, plus the storytelling, pacing, direction, character design and development...
The FL is so intelligent, headstrong, cool. The ML is so green flag. I love them so much. I can't get enough of this story. But I'm afraid I must pause for more chapters to accumulate first, so that I can aptly binge this and not forget about what happens.
Ch 72 (and 73) is my absolute fave. I must mention this so that I can go back to this chap any time I need some feels.
This is after she got shot with the poisonous arrow and we're done with the flashbacks of ML's childhood and his POV on how they met. It's revealed that he knew all along about FL's identity. The way she was resting, bandaged up, lying half naked in his arms and he's hugging her in his arms in bed. It's a wonderful combination of sad and sexy and touching LOL. The portrayal was so good.
In season 2, we go from renaissance style clothing (older, darker) to regency style clothing (more pompous, colourful, modern historical). A lot of readers have commented about how jarring this art change was, which is actually explained due to the scenery change: FL is back in the south, in her home country, where fashion is 100 years "trendier" than the north. Personally, I love that the author and artists pay such close attention to these details and would even bother to differentiate between clothing styles. This kind of close consideration and thoughtfulness doesn't come up often.
This webtoon just screams QUALITY.
