I really love this author!
The story is simple at first glance, the meeting conditions are always pretty normal (school, work, friends etc) but the magic is how the author always digs deep into the essence of the characters' interactions; their thoughts, their words, how they try to figure out their feelings.. Always with highlighting the characters' personalities to the point that they keep a print on you that makes them unforgettable.
Loved all of the authors work and this story is a new addition to my top favorites. Ichikawa Kei and Yoneda Kou are officially my favorite authors for this genre, their special deep writing styles and how they translate complex feelings and interactions into words is just remarkably beautiful.

I like that their personalities are individual and not based on basic demographics.

Simple story about complex characters. I love it.

If I had to describe it in one sentence I'd say it's a slow romance kind of story and it's good. But it's not enough, right? The plot is focused on main characters' efforts to create a relationship. There's slow pace, but it's not boring, mainly because of the inner dialogues of those guys. They are both uni students and introverts, although Kakei is rather extreme... They don't talk that much with each other, on the contrary a lot is going on in their heads. I recall a few funny moments caused by this contrast. Anyway it surely is hard to approach somebody and make them notice you if you don't know how to talk with people and barely have friends. It was fun to watch how they struggle.
I like the execution of this simple story and also the fact there's no cliche, not even the slightest bit. Moreover this story is real life like and totally believable. Nice, right? The art is spare, clean and pretty. The story has many good points, but I'll stop here, I don't want to write an essay.
If you like mature stories - I mean concentrated more on emotions and character's growth than on sex - just dig in. I'm sure you'll like it.

There's not much to be said about the story, and the faces in serious moments sometimes turned me off, but what I really liked about this was how relatable both main characters are. Their thoughts, their words, and their responses to others felt realistic and I often just sat back like, "Same." There's nothing exciting in terms of twists and conflict, but I suppose part of the realistic charm is how mundane it all is. It's refreshing. A socially awkward dude has a crush. That's all.

The mangaka is one of the few rising BL authors in recent years that have truly become masters of utilising inner monologues to flesh out characters and their development in the most effective yet nuanced and subtle way. This manga is the perfect example of how the most ordinary story could turn into something much more than it could promise with the right execution. Of course parts of the success also involve well written characters that are very relatable, something the readers gradually discover as the former's true intentions and personalities slowly unfold. The story is clean and sweet, with just the right length to get to the big finish. I was personally having quite a bit of fun trying to figure out who was going to be the seme, changing my guess a few times throughout the manga before getting it wrong at the end, haha.

simply cute!!~

this is one of the simplest plots done right - which proves yet again that it doesn't matter what you're writing about, as long as your heroes are likable and their interactions are interesting. So... nice heroes with certain twists that help them not to be flat and stale; nice bit of tension thrown in here and there that keeps you interested and on your toes (but not too tense); and setting and plot that are pretty standard. If you're looking for a classic (safe) plot that tastes fresh enough not to be bland, I think this one may be for you.
