Supernatural elements yet realistic emotions

I got Tokyopop publication of this manga from friend. She gave it to me with words: "It is not worth of read but I can not just throw it away to dumpster." sad I had very low expectation from it because of her words.

But when I started to read it, I could not stop. It was so interesting and great. I love this manga same as "Doll: IC in a doll" and "RIP". Everything are Mihara works and it have similar patern and style. Gothic dresses, here in Beautiful People is even a vampire!

All these stories are emotional and despite there are lot of supernatural elements it feels so realistic. You learn very less about characters history but you can understand them via their emotions. Lot of those stories are about looking for meaning of life. It's definitely not reading for teens but for adults. There is nothing explicit here but you need some life experience to understand it. There is no sweet or naive romantic for young girls.

I found this series stunning and unique. Each one shot dealt with a different situation. Some of them even got pretty creepy, but they were still wonderful. The mangaka has dealt with the premise of love in each one-shot without things getting mushy. Give it a go.

Blue Sky

The cover does this one little justice. Although I've only read the last story, I did glance at the others to see that they are drawn better on the whole than what is shown on the cover.... like the publisher didn't put much effort into making sure that the cover would properly sell the inside.

Anyway the last story, Blue Sky, deals with a vampire who finds a human child that he decides to raise on a whim. It's short, which is all the more reason why you should give it a try.

i was first taken back by the cover...but when i tried to read it i was really captivated!!! i cant pick my favorite!!!

1st story- it was kindda tragic but i get the message...its nice..
2nd story- i like this one!!! it shows whta happens if everybody else is annihilated and...i also like the characters...theyre both a homo-ish...
3rd story- it was a bit emoish story...
4th story- this one is really twisted and psychotic...but at the same time i like it!!! its unexpected...
5th story- i also like this one!!! even though it was somehow like frankeinstein but the idea sets them apart...i also like the message...
6th story- what a sweet story!!! i was all awwww~ in the end...

i also like the fact that there are hints of romance in each story but things didnt go all lovey- dovey and tooth achy...

Beautiful quick stories

I really do like this manga. It deals with themes we typically don't see in most mangas, and they're neatly presented in 6 thought-provoking stories. It does leave me with an uneasy sigh, and a little somber to see how beauty can be.. Sure the stories were a bit contrived to fit the theme, yes the art isn't the greatest thing ever, but it's a touching one volume series, that won't take long to read. I recommend it.

Mitsukazu Mihara is known for her gothic tales that really get her readers thinking... and here, she suggests that beauty isn't something a person is, but something a person's character might possess.

A bitter young man is reminded of his life’s passion by the unlikeliest of people. A bullied teenager finds solace in the world of the internet. A woman undergoes countless sessions of plastic surgery to become beautiful, only to learn that beauty has nothing to do with appearance at all-- these stories touch everyone in some way that they can relate. The somber mood, the emotions, and tragic irony presented in the stories left me sighing in contemplation.

I can't rate it higher because some of the stories felt like I’ve already read them. But, even then, it's well worth the read, and just like any thing of beauty, it will stay in your mind for some time, if not forever.
