The approach to the obvious political conflict seems to be quite one-sided

It's an interesting topic and the story takes a realistic approach and seems quite informative. The art is somewhat unique but while the characters are realistic, they are not particularly interesting.
At the end of volume 1, the afterword points out that the guy writing it went to a catholic hospital for research and consulting. It's not hard to guess which side of the abortion debate the author ends up on when volume 2 comes along. And calling it a debate would in this case be a generous way to put it.

Interesting, even if a little preachy

Interesting and moving, Kounodori immediately caught my eye. It takes a realistic look at pregnancy, right down to the ugly bits: abortion, still births, mothers who cannot take care of their babies; and it follows the pianist-obstetrician protagonist alongside several stories.

Personally, I skipped most of the chapters related to teen pregnancy and abortion, feeling it took a turn towards the preachy side: "abortion is murder", "no woman is happy about her abortion", and other themes the reader might not necessarily agree with.

Very Interesting

This is a very interesting read, as it follows the mc, a obstetrician, through varying cases of pregnancy. Currently in volume 2 there doesn't appear to be any overall plot, but seeing as its ongoing with 7 volumes, I'm expecting something start up soon. I can't quite put my finger how I truly feel about the art. While I know some people would say it sucks, its just different than most mainstream mangas. But I feel that it visually communicates everything you need to know and so it that sense it's very good. Not everything is pleasing to the eye, but that's how life is and it also fits perfectly with the story. So even if you don't plan on reading the series, skim through a chapter and just look at the art. I'd very much like to know others feelings about it.
