A gloomy manga

While the story is kind of depressive and doomed (I hope it's not based on personal experience of the author's), the simple progress also provides a contemplating side for the reader to relate to. The 'amateurish' style of drawing as if makes a satirical stance out of aspects of reality, in this case poverty, by consuming on the running subject of the story: amateur geology (or rockhounding -wikipedia). Philosophically, if we reflect the life of the protagonist's to the mundane, dull-looking rocks taken from the river, we can say that his life isn't much more plain and washy. But of course, the story has just started to be interesting. Even as short as it is, the author was able to convulse me with its black comedy and satirical depiction.
