I love this manga- not your typical japanese romcom

It is so refreshing to see a FML not be fully boy crazy (since she is still young which at least is believable) and lose her personality because she's discovered she's in love. One of the reasons why I stopped reading alot of japanese romance mangas is be ause all the FMCs cry too much and base their school lofe around the MMC. I have reread it 3 times and will mpst likely reread when I get the chance.

Pacing and love! I love it.

Manga is light hearted, its good. It ain't much but for me it is 10/10 I would love to reread it again in the future where I forget the plot. It seems understandable for amane to be dense and unknowledgeable, because she's a kid and not all kids get sex ed early on and maybe she did but wasn't even interested and not even listen during her 5 years of moving schools.

The story overall is good and the ending seems good, I like it because I have been waiting for them to get into a relationship and from what I see, the pacing of their love is normal if you take in her mindset of "I like everyone and they are my friends".

I have nothing to say more because I am somewhat satisfied and not at the same time because I just want more. (Also why is it 4 ep special and not a whole anime?)

I can't help but be dissapointed. Could've been something.

The story is about a 6th grader who is prone to moving schools every year moves to a special elementary school where the MMC has a cat fact. Not a cat like face. An actual cat face. Not a hot yokai who has trouble wearing clothes for some reason. Just a normal cat face on a human body. Only she can see this however, the rest including the MMC finds her reactions odd. Now she tries to figure out why she can see that. Now we have a romance story. Of course the romance doesn't start till volume 6 but i'll get to that.

The character, main character, specifically is fucking braindead. She has a brick inside her head. This is harem MC type density right here. She isn't stupid when it comes to stuff like love but also just fucking dumb AF when it comes to shit like friendship or just basic human shit. She is so stupid right she doesn't understand what a period is.... Im sure there is a time when girls don't understand or don't know what periods are but holy shit the way she does is just infuriating. The MMC isn't really any better either. The cat face is meant to be comedic but the author pulls the shoujo serious/cool archtype so many times and its so hard to take that shit seriously because he has a stupid cat face. He is pretty much this perfect type guy but slightly more insecure because ugh Mommy issues. ALWAYS MOMMY ISSUES IN SHOUJO MANGA.

Another problem really is with the story. It doesn't really start till volume 6-7. Everything before that felt more like a prologue to the main story. Which in itself would be fine if it wasn't meh. The side romances was like the only decent thing about the first 6 volumes. Everything else was this friendship BS and it only was friendship because the heroine had a brick inside her head. There is also this incredibly annoying love triangle. It just on all accounts bad

There 2 main plot points in this series. The fact that the heroine doesn't want to make friends and stuff cuz she usually moves schools every year. The other being why does she see the fact Nekota has a cat face. Both of this plot points take a backseat for fuck all. It would be fine if the main plot took a back seat if the series was actually interesting and funny to begin with. But it wasn't so its just left with this mess.

The last 4 volumes was ok. In terms of the whole comedy and what not. Definitely an overall improvement than the first. But Honestly its not enough. You can't carry a series with concepts alone. the concept being the MMC having a cat face.

The last 4 volumes the FMC moves to middle school right. So 4 of the main supporting cast just take a backseat. Literally its just about these 4 characters now. Its so odd because the author only adds 1 character back rather than making new interesting characters. Its basically saying the author couldn't make better characters so she just cut them off instead.

Honestly the romance starts like the in the last 2 volumes which is actually the best part but that point its already too late. Its just disappointing because it could've been something. But you are just left with a hollow feeling instead. Also some of the side romance is left in the air which is upsetting but at the same time not. Not everyone needs a romantic conclusion. But than don't waste my fucking time on it.

TLDR: Damn I was more disappointed in this series than i expected. They were some good moments i swear. But they were far too little in the sea of mediocrity and bricks for brains. 4/10. Try again Author-san

I liked it, i actually really liked it in the first 20-ish chapters. It was lighthearted middle school fun, and decent character development happened.
The ending is really bad imo.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
I felt like after 20 chapters, it was like the mangaka had been replaced. The rivalry between Haruka and Mikiko was largely what most of their relationship was build on, so at this point, Haruka had already realized that she didn't like Nekota (at least not anymore) and she begins to become all lovey-dovey with Yuuta. The problem with this is the fact that after the rivalry is over, all the feistyness and coolness of her character is lost, and she is just thrust into the mandatory best friend/mom friend role for Mikiko.
The subplot of young Mushroomhead-kun (the classmate that liked Mikiko) is never really resolved, and it is even used as comic relief.
The reason why a friendship between Nekota and Mikiko would be good is because, really, Nekota has lived a life full of shallow friends and fake relationships. He's presumably always been popular for his good looks and cool personality, but no one has ever liked him for, well him. He's dealing with it just fine, and he is still a very sincere and reliable guy, but it is these underlying problems that could gradually be solved by befriending Mikiko.
Mikiko didn't want to befriend anyone in the beginning of the manga, because she is used to leaving right away. But through Nekota, she realizes that she should go for it anyway, as life is always spontanious.
This way, their friendship could be mutually beneficial, and they do have a great friendship in the manga. The problem, i feel, is the fact that even though I am aware that Nekota is the ML, and that Mikiko, at some point of the manga, would fall in love with him. But since Outa Rie had made such a great strong friendship between them, i just could not see a way she could make them suddenly love eachother.
In order to do it in an organic way, she would've had to set it up over a long amount of chapters. She doesn't do this. Suffice to say, the ending was rushed and I don't know if it was because it was cancelled or not? (im not sure if it was cancelled or not). I would've liked it if Nekota and Mikiko stayed friends - they had learned some important lessons from eachother, and i feel like those lessons gradually get tainted if the notion of attraction is put into the mix.
Also, Haruka's development was very cliche, typical fake-nice-girl-actually-evil development that shoujo manga has seen a MILLION times. Mikiko was a rare breed of shoujo MC, and I feel like usually, i would see that type of person as stupid and annoying, but i found her endearing and nice.

Cute, plotless story

The premise of this story is so funny and cute that it makes up for some of the faults. There's not much plot, not much seriousness and virtually no drama despite the *many* love triangles. I'm not even sure of the purpose of most of the love triangles as a few were literally mentioned in passing and many were never relevant plot-wise. I guess one was used for humour.

In terms of characters, Amane is refreshing in some ways but also ridiculously dense, though this is partially explained by her age; rather than her being clueless about romance, it's more like her friends are too knowledgeable. There are too many 'Amane looking cheerful and sparkling' drawings. Nekota is super nice and sweet. She gets her period for the first time during the course of the story, and rather than being 'eww' when her pad leaks at the beach, he helps her out by giving her his shirt to cover up the blood. I'll note though that these kids are desperately in need of sex ed (Amane asks her mother what is on her underwear and has no idea about periods... I'm unsure whether this was an attempt at humour or whether kids are really given no education on this topic in Japan...).

Overall it was a nice, light, cute story that failed in some aspects but won in others. I had trouble deciding on a rating due to the fact that there were many good points but also some prominent faults - ultimately I gave it 8.0 because it left me wih an positive impression and I think it succeeded at being the type of manga it was trying to be.

I also want to thank the scanlators of this manga for their fast releases!

... was a "no-show". I thought the author would properly let us see everything as of his facial features. But, nope! It remained faithful since the beginning. So there were only glimpses.

The manga is really good, light-hearted and refreshing, nevertheless.

Pure love at its best!!!!!

The story of the manga revolves around Mikiko Amane, an elementary-school girl who has transferred schools many times. Because of this, she stopped making friends or getting deeply involved with people, since she knew she would move again soon. She had lived her life with a cool and uninterested personality, but at her new school, she meets a boy with a cat face! She's so interested in him, she just can't help herself.

I've come to love this manga so much not because it has a handsome male lead but for its amazing plot. I mean come on, Nekota's face is literally a cat how can a girl fall in love with that. But his actions speak louder than words for me.

Miki the heroine is strong, innocent and determined. She's unlike any typical shoujo leads who are weak, cry babies and fickle minded.

Seriously I've never read such interesting manga before.. It's fresh and original.. I cannot count how many times this made my heart skip a beat...

I love love love it!!!!!!!
