An encounter between a kitsune who runs an udon stall and a man who sells tofu. When the man compliments the deliciousness of the udon, the stall owner is so ecstatic that the tail he was hiding pops out in "The Kitsune's Udon." Additionally, there are four other illustrated tales with tengu, dragons and the likeーtales of relationships between ayakashi and humans.

I LOVE THIS. Very much similar to Shoowa’s [m]Ninii No Mori[/m]. I want a complete volume for each of the shorts.
It's a bunch of fairytales, based on Japanese folklore, with beautiful art, nice storyline and likeable characters. Their endings aren't typical happy endings, so the whole manga won't make your teeth hurt with it's sweetness. There's everything you need to enjoy a good read (if you don't hate fairytales of course). I don't have anything in particular to brag about, I mean, yes, it's a good story, so it could be longer, I'd be happy to read vol. 2 or something, but that's all, so I'll end my comment here.
All five stories in this collection are pretty nice and enjoyable even if they might not be most complex in essence. The premise is interesting enough, and the execution adequate. I especially loveee the chibi extra chapter at the end; it's so adooorable and funny I can't stand it haha <3
