Ms. Aoshika is not only divorced, but an underappreciated teacher at her job. But one drunken mishap leads her to witness firsthand the brutal assault and murder of a young man. However, after fainting, she awakens to discover that all of the assailants have been seriously wounded.
And to her further surprise, the next day she discovers that not only is the young man, Akira, she met the night before alive, but he is now her new transfer student.

"Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou" is a modern adaptation of Wolf Guy (SAKAGUCHI Hisashi) in a more violent and sinister setting.

Hmm. "Seems to be a decent werewolf manga. Yey to me!" *reads all the way through* Not.

I've been pondering whether to comment now and relegate it to the "manga flops list" or wait as the manga unfolds and endure it. As of this writing, I'm with the latest chapter that is 21 in scanlated release. After 3 volumes, the plot isn't going anywhere but down.

First impression: a series marred of loose plot and lousy characters. Excuse me but the hell with this manga? Where's the solid plot? So it tells me that Wolf Guy takes on the delirious gangs and wins effortlessly! So what's next in it for me if I take that out of the equation? Can the story stand on its own? Don't tell me Wolf Guy and his sexy teacher will go lovey-dovey next? :/ It's the coolness of middle school after all! (I know how distorted that argument is. Attack it, for all I care.)

Where's the depth in the characters? Where's the "intelligence" these readers speak of? I don't care if you inject loads of mindless and over-the-top violence in there but if that's the actual story then it's got to be BORING. Plus, the female teacher is only a sex object and a damsel in distress.

You say Seinen is primarily targeted for "mature" boys? There is no sense of maturity in this series. At all. W00t! Middle-school riots and gangs??! That's a change. Bleh. It's full of immature pranks and lousy characters through and through without giving a second's thought on doing a necessary groundwork for a decent plot.

If you're looking for one-way action, violence as a way of life and rape like it's easy to do so, go read this one. But if you're looking for an intricate story with well-developed characters, sorry, you must be fooling yourself to read this.

PS: Like GuardianPL did, there goes my 2 points for its artwork. ^_^

Theres been a few bad ratings, but not enough praise to this manga. The problem with most mangas is they present a main character who cannot do anything by himself, always relying on others, or he's pathetically weak. This manga shows the opposite, having a main character you can rely on. Alot better than sitting and reading page after page hoping the main character grows some nuts. Read this if you're looking for a manga character that isn't a pussy. =]

be honest, fair enough they have reasons to gun this manga to a pile of shit, but be honest i dno the themes and drawings pretty much sum the best parts of this manga, its mediocre story does adapt into somthing better im sure but for me its caught my eyes, it can be epic in the eyes of who see's it violence for what it is personally i love it. trust me the main character is cool its and shows a gruesome side of gangs and action, ignore the mediocre cheesnes which comes every nw and then be sure to read the whole thing before u judge its shitness if you wna call it that.. for me its just to cool..and i love the persona of women who they portray them artist really knws a slut and normal women aha, ANYWAY READ IT

ok ok its nothing compared to vagabond or vinland saga but just for a read im sure its worth it

I read the 10 first chapters of this "thing" and i said to myself "Dude, you read that somewhere before" and it came to me... It's like any other freaking unintelligent, shallow and childish shonen manga thats ever been made. It's a darn crime that this manga is rated so high. It's an insult to other great seinen like Vagabond and Parasite.

To all you kids out there loving this manga. Plz, stop rating this so high, its really misleading. Let the big boys take care of the rating.

I'm truly sorry to say so, but I'm one disappointed bastard.
Initially I got instantly drawn in due to great drawing and werewolf theme, but from chapter to chapter my disgust for the "kiddiness" of the manga was building up. Story is so shallow, naive and stupid that it's hard to believe. I think if I was ~15 year old I could swallow it and relish the "oh-I'll-be-raped-any-minute-look-at-my-humongous-boobs-and-save-me" attitude but being 27 I simply can't cope. And it's all the middle school on top of that roll eyes Yuck, it's so obvious for whom that manga was created...

It saddens me that the only convincing depiction of werewolves I could find is from Werewolf:The Apocalypse and Wolf's Rain. This Wolfen Crest is just a sad excuse for a werewolf story.

I truly wish I could say something better than that, believe me :/

4 for the art, back on hunt for anything similar to Berserk or Vinland Saga.

The only downside to this manga is that each chapter is woefully short, and just about every one ends on a cliffhanger.

The other complaint would be the choices of the scanlator's on how to show the delinquents' slang is rather confusing at times. Occasionally it's so hard to decipher or so unnatural it takes you out of the story.
It's only the delinquents though. Have to say that the translation to the narration flows really well and it's quite poetic in its structure.

Everything else is fantastic. The main character can be gruff and mean, but he's interesting and his behavior is fairly understandable. I appreciate how he doesn't outright flaunt his abilities, but still isn't trying to completely hide them.

Fantastic art in this one, the anatomy is just about spot on...I can't even complain about the proportions on the woman. Very well done.

Fair warning, this manga does deal with themes of rape and they are very realistically, disturbingly portrayed. Kudos to the manga-ka though, for showing it as disgusting as it truly is. I actually cringed during one scene, as opposed to many other manga that just make it seem...well, hot.

Over all, the manga is hot, exciting, disturbing, and thoroughly enjoyable. Can't wait for more!

Note: What was up with the person who said the teacher's boobs are "too big for her personality"? Breast size has nothing to do with personality, and I find that pretty insulting, since I wouldn't say I have a "big boob" personality, but I'm a DD >_>

I actually prefer to see well-endowed "normal" characters in manga. I identify with that, and it looks like she's a bit of a victim of having such a body. Poor lady.

Finally a werewolf story and a pretty good one at that. Main guy is pretty much shouting his sexuality and at the same time challenging delinquents without actually doing so. Can't wait to see more

It requires many chapters to have the story understood and appealing. But even without the story, the style the character has, and the flows already enticing many of us. That wolfie is GAR!

you dont usually get comments this nice and descriptive... but theyre all right. this series is epic, although theres only 12 chapters out and theres the occasional akward translation. and the teacher has boobs too big for her personality. and it think it should set in high school. but everything else is epic. btw, theres a girl who looks exactly like moaning myrtle from harry potter in this manga O_o
