Suwa Daisuke is an ordinary, but popular, high school student. One of his classmates, Aikawa Hinako, is somewhat fearful of men and because she ran away from just his attempt to touch her hair, he states to one of his buddies, that she is the only one he wouldn't date, unaware all of the people in his classroom could hear them, including Hinako.
Daisuke's attitude changes after he unintentionally hears a shocking truth that she confesses in an abandoned church. His former annoyance turns to compassion and concern. Hinako is unaware that he knows her 'little' secret. Believing him to have no romantic interest, she becomes more relaxed and comfortable in his company. Their relationship faces a lot of obstacles, including jealous classmates.

First off, i don't like the drawing style.

Second, the plot was more or less obvios after the first 1-2 chapters.

Third, that main female is very badly put together.

Spoiler Warning:
she is very cute, is afraid of men (when in girl company shes fine ), gets sad when seeing a baby, but he is fine because she heard he doesn't want her?
You shouldn't use seriuos topics to make cardboard characters.

a serious kusunoki kei manga?

After reading (and sometimes working on) quite a few kusunoki kei mangas, this one came as a surprise in that it wasn't a gag comedy. Still, so far the darker theme has proven every bit as interesting, and perhaps even more involving, than her usual fare. Not much is out right now, but the characters are interesting, the premise is fairly unique, and the story has lots of potential.

i don't normal read this type of manga since they usually have a really dull and very fictional story line.. this however draws nearly parallel to reality.... and the drawing and wonderfully done... great manga....

the story to this manga is pretty heavy. i cant say what happened to the girl or it might spoil some people but the story is pretty deep. like me some guys have a weird thing from staying away from girls that have experienced this. its something i cant describe. well the plot is all good and very dramatic.. only if the secret wasnt that, maybe something else i would have liked it better....

Unfortunately, stuff like what happened in the manga DOES happen in the real world regardless of how "civilised" the society is. At this point, all I can say is that it's very VERY different from the other series that this mangaka has made.

if compared to the others Kusunoki Kei manga such as the Girl Saurus edition, Bitter Virgin surpassed them all... well worth a read^^

I always have to add a comment when I see a stupid one that brings the rating down, any review that doesn't explain why they gave it a low score (and instead rambles nonsense) when others don't isn't worth reading.

I have read a few series from the author but this one is so much more different than anything the author has done before. When I first read it I was expecting something funny like one of her old series like Girls Saurus (since there were jokes laid about here and there), but then you are hit with a ton of bricks and find out how serious the series really is.

awesome isn't the best word but this manga portrays this type of reality so closely that it is awesome. the topic is really awkward and pretty disturbing.
